I hope the E30 geeks will be along shortly but for £40k I would have thought correctly positioned badges and stripes would be in order, and is it me and my old eyes or does the 'P' of the cam cover 'ALPINA' look a little 'square' and hence a little fake?

Don't ask me if it is genuine or fake  , I thought it was a 4 door saloon when I spotted it last year

they didn't have that type of valve cover anyhow, it would have been just crackle black and that's it wouldn't it (no logo's or script). Car looks to be genuine but some parts are quite shoddy for £40k

A genuine C2 2.7 cam cover and inlet are painted grey, not crackle black.

The interior is incorrect and tackily done.

It was once and auto and now a manual.

I once saw this very car 10 years ago with the cylinder head removed when the then owner was selling another one,

its has a council re trim. Its an auto car thats been converted to manual. The MOT history is very interesting and has failed MOTs for rot and advisories on it also. Milege discrepancies

Looks typical C2 rubbish, avoid would be my best advice
