Re: My first Alpina: A rather unique D3 Touring

I intend to use it as my daily car so will be travelling around the Midlands in the week and hauling dogs, kids, bikes and everything else at the weekend, a decision that is divided in many people's opinions so far. If you want to use it as a daily driver then fill your boots :D For reference, I've...

Re: Service parts and Gear box oil - Its time.....

Rav - Because your engine is based upon the US M3 3.0 , be aware that the pulleys and belts required may be different to those on an E46 328i engine. I cannot be certain and have checked my invoices for a similar recent pulley replacement but it doesn't show part numbers. It's worth asking the quest...

Probably had less head gaskets too, Charles :D
Probably, but on a V8, that's two for every one of mine

Re: which tracker to get

According to a friend of mine and on the subject - but at a slight tangent - Tracker no longer support the Horizon model which was being fitted back in the early 2000s. However, they are offering a £200 upgrade to their Monitor product (£361 RRP). If you took out the lifetime subscription originally...

Re: Taken your winters off yet?

As my mother always reminds me, my birthday (which is the end of March) can either be blazing sunshine or blizzards - hence why I avoid the temptation to change tyres until into April.

Re: E46 B3S Coupe 25 March 2019 M40 Eastbound 16:34

A trawl through the archives suggests ..... all the early models had the larger 'S' whereas the late run-out models had the smaller 's' - a 2003 brochure advertising the B3S shows a smaller 's' but also shows a B3 3.3 picture trying to pass it off as a 'B3S'; it all fits with Alpina's modus operand...

Am i allowed to say i paid £2500 for my B3S touring?
Of course!

It does mean that that you have almost covered the cost of all the work you've done on it if you were to sell it at market value today

the 3 and s look same size but should not be
I'm afraid you are incorrect. The 3 and the S on my car are the same size too and this is how it came from the factory.

However, like hap, I have seen them different sizes as well - so I guess it depends on what Buchloe decided to do at the time.

Re: E46 B3 3.3 Touring #113

It will be interesting to see and not much to compare it with, the last B3S Touring for sale was #29 was advertised for £27.5k? Indeed! #029 was priced seriously high (about twice market value in my opinion) but if it managed to sell at that price then fantastic!!! The last sensibly priced B...

Re: E46 B3 3.3 Touring #113

I've been trying to track the whereabouts of the 9 UK B3 3.3 Tourings but have only figured out the identity of 8 of them. From what I know: 4 have current MOT's, 1's last MOT expired Oct-17 and 3 I don't know the current registrations for. Has anyone managed to identify a 9th? I know of: #036, #08...

Re: E46 B3 3.3 Touring #113

Back up on eBay at £13.5k B3 3.3 TOURING [E46] #113 Black Sapphire/Black Montana Leather; 2002_51; £13.5k; 161k; Private I can't help thinking that this is, perhaps, above what the market is likely to settle at - particularly as the asking price is the same as the current midpoint for B3S Tourings ...
