Happy Birthday

Post by Charles » Mon Mar 29, 2010 9:47 am

Bit of a busy weekend so I didn't get round to posting this on Saturday.

7 years ago, on 27th March 2003, I pulled out of Sytner in East London as the very proud owner of a B3S Touring in Oxford Green II :D

7 years and 169k miles later, I am still the very proud owner of the same B3S Touring and cannot think of any other car that I would like to be driving right now :D :D :D :D

Many happy returns!

I also have a few important birthdays this year. The B10V8 will be 10, the B8 will be 15 and my E32 is 21 years young in September. The latter has been getting lots of detail attention over the last few weeks in preperation for going back on the road next week.

I almost went down that route when the new one first came out but, to be honest, I am still completely in love with mine - even if cashflow were to permit a change.

There is more than enough power, I am not a great fan of the E9x interior design and everything still seems to be bolted together the way it should be - so why change?

I am treating her to a refurbished set of wheels this week and I plan to spend time over this summer working through a top to bottom valet - yes, I am prepared to get my hands dirty with clay bars and the like :!:

What I failed to mention earlier is that she was my birthday present from me to me 7 years ago - so it won't surprise you to know that it is actually my birthday today

Congrats Charles on both counts.

For me it is about 7.5 years with my B10 so we will see who parts with theirs first although I have no intention of doing that for a long while yet.

Happy birthday! Mine will be 8 years and 3 months at the end of this week and I own it for the last 6 years and have put more than 75k on it. A few weeks ago my trouble half had complained I spent too much to repair it as the ECU and the DSC pump gone.
