I was out at a rugby club meeting last night and knew that I was going to miss the second part of Evan Davis' excellent documentary on the City. So I set up the newly installed Sky+ to do the job.

Got home a bit later and found that one of my little "darling" children had taken it upon themselves to cancel the recording - it couldn't have been my wife as she hasn't even noticed the remote control has changed since Saturday!

Now I know I can watch it on the iPlayer - but it's not the same.

My question is this:

What is the most appropriate punishment for them? In this case they will be treated like a Borg collective and equal punishment for all.

Easy..........

4 garden chairs in the wine cellar Cool

16 heavy duty cable ties

1 black & white TV

Make 'em watch the whole programme on the iplayer while you quaff some stock Wink

If that doesn't induce some remorse, strap 'em to one of the chimney stacks for the night..............

Much as I appreciate the appeasement route, Graham, I instinctively feel that Pa Taket's approach is closer to my style Twisted Evil

Any other suggestions?

glue one of there hands to the side of there face & the other hand to there opposit foot

it might not stop them canceling your sky+ but it will keep you entertained for hours

Simple, just stop them watching Television and surfing for a week Evil or Very Mad
That should have them soon screaming for mercy, might also give them something more constructive to do Wink

Next time one of them records something with sky+, tell them the box has taught them a lesson and deleted it just as they did to Daddy's programme. Smile

Carry on like that, Geoff, and I'll be looking for you to receive the same treatment as my children.

I'm looking for (and expecting, damn it) solidarity here Wink

I thought the answer will be obvious Charles. Make them wash your car for two weeks Wink

If it is not up to your standards on the first occasion then make them wash the Grand Espace midweek, so that they know that if it is not perfect next time you will make them wash both until it is Laughing

Btw: depending on you monitor or laptop and your TV. You may get a better definition from iPlayer Wink

As soon as my kids were old enough to start pushing buttons and opening the tv stand door, i showed them how to work the video/dvd etc.
The wife was horrified at first, but apart from having to empty the video of crisps now and again there were never any breakages Mad

Now, if i want anything done on the computer i just ask my 9 year old who is more than willing to show off what a total nerd he can be Shocked

Charles, do you think the problem could be down to lack of training, or maybe you just need a higher shelf Question

When the nice man from Sky came to do the installation he announced he was going to give me a demonstration on how it all worked. I stopped him so that I could gather as many children as possible to be present on the basis that they could teach me after the man had gone.

Unfortunately one of them slipped through the net.

Guess which one deleted the recording?
