Funny thing happened with the car phone earlier this week.

I have a Nokia 6310 for the car with a second SIM card - cos it works perfectly with the BMW (Nokia actually) Bluetooth system. Generally these phones are bulletproof but I tried to fire it up on Tuesday when I headed out for a trip and - nada!

Long story short - popped into "The Fone Shack" (don't you just love it Very Happy ) this morning and by lunchtime they had it up and running. Apparently, one or two of the solder connections had gone "dry" and they needed to do something clever with the board to reconnect the iffy joints.

And all for a tenner!!!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

For when the Zombies invade and you can't get hold of them any more.

Useful to know.

Also useful for you to know that The Fone Shack have a stash of batteries on the shelf. Do you want any?

And I see that your Ikea wagon is now sub-zero - according to Clarkson.

And I thought you were underground somewhere warmer!

Don't know and don't know - but will ask the question for anyone interested.

Yup, the Logic Engine, as it's now called, is indeed sub-zero - and with much justification.

£10 for generic ones and they can get genuine Nokia ones for £15. These are the quoted prices and I am sure I can negotiate a deal with them on a volume purchase Exclamation

They didn't say they were new or where they can get them from - just that they can supply genuine Nokia ones for £15.

Your hands might heat up with them though ....

I can investigate further - if you would like.

Thanks for the offer but I reckon they will be "approved used"! I have one genuine Nokia BPS-2 still unused (they really DO last a hell of a long time) so I'll keep an eye open on the bay of flea.
