|
|
After many years of unrequited Seven series love and several years of tracking down B11's and B12's I have finally scratched my V12 itch.....
It's big.....
Rather pleasant inside with all that space...
One of just two UK cars in lwb, the other was last seen in 2001 and never seen since. There were other rhd lwb cars made, 2 more in 5.7 and 4 in 6.0, but these were for Japan although one has made it's way to these shores. _________________ E24man

1985 BMW M635CSi (1 of 524 rhd made, but less than half left now)
1982 BMW 635CSiA (1 of only hundreds left from the thousands made and still valiantly fighting a rusty grave) |

Congrats Kevin, looks to be in good nick.
Luckily you seem to have plenty of space to park it, would take up most of my drive |

There's quite a list to do actually.
The obligatory wheel refurb, some stone chips and one or two tiny blisters, some leather restoration, a couple of very minor interior fixes.
Then there's the necessary AV upgrades; bye-bye to the Mk1 Nav and 4/3 screen and hello to Mk4, OEM widescreen, aux-in and iPod in. I might go for a full analogue tuner upgrade to integrated digital TV and DAB but I will probably retain the tandem telephone handsets with a standard SIM card on a PAYG contract.
The rear monitor and VHS player still work although the picture quality is, well, VHS, so a dvd player with USB and Memory Card input could find it's way back there.
Then there is the mat situation. I'm quite horrified to discover that Alpina will not make any more mats for the E38's, nor is there much choice from BMW, just biege IIRC, so that leaves me looking at aftemarket mats to try and preserve the life of the fabulous and period stripey Alpina mats.
Otherwise it just needs a new rear light assembly, one presently has a crack causing a leak so that will be done this week.
It's only done 70k miles and has full BMW Dealer history so barely run in, but as a precaution it will have a full gearbox service for the 17 year old 'lifetime oil'.
It should keep me busy for a few months....... until perhaps the Mora or Estoril B12 6.0 cars become available ...... _________________ E24man

Very nice. Could you please tell me what that "panel" in the rear door nearest to the centre pillar is. It's intriguing me. |
