Great idea, exactly 1 year too late for me :( Wonder what impact if any it will have on us "standard" spec owners residuals. Never mind, still love the car and you can only buy what's there at the time.

Hi Steve,
Why not go for a re-trim?
I know it is not the purists way but it would keep the cost down and looks way better.
Graham Dean re-trimmed mine (D3 Touring #120).
Have a look, he did a great job.
The standard BMW Leather looks crap IMHO.
Mac.

Now I'm interested again!

It looks like a much better value for money car now. I have the 123d auto and love the engine, well, if I am honest I hate the engine but I like the fact it is kicking out 250bhp, gets to 60mph in 6 seconds and returns between 41 and 49mpg every tank.

Gizze - have you chipped your engine ? How are you finding it ( as you suggested that you have mixed feelings about it ). Is the transmission coping ?

Yeah mine is chipped.

Image

That was straight after it was mapped, have done it again since, 3000 miles on and it is now 6.1 seconds pretty much everytime.

Sorry, what I meant regarding the engine is that it's no Straight Six or Rumbling V8, in every other respect it is fabulous.

I wish it had a sweet engine note and revved to 7000rpm, but being an auto the revs are not that important and I will sacrfice the soundtrack for 450 miles to a £50 fill up.

Transmission is fine, same gearbox as some of the much higher powered cars. I think the small turbo is the limit, well with regards to mapping anyway.
