Glastonbury 2009

Post by Charles » Mon Jun 22, 2009 12:53 pm

Right from the start, let me say that I don't do camping.

Some of the sharper members here will remind me that I go to Le Mans and camp whilst there, but you'd be wrong. Le Mans is a pilgrimage and we don't camp - we marquee :!:

So, back to the thread - my brother-in-law has decided to get married and the idea of a pagan ceremony at the stone circle (specially imported for the weekend) seemd like a good idea to him and his gorgeous bride-to-be.

"We want the kids to be attendants" was perhaps the worst sentence in the world for me to hear a few months back. 150,000 people, tents, chemical toilets loud music, drugs and four small people who will get lost in about 3 nanseconds.

As you can tell, I'm really looking forward to this weekend - NOT

And add to this, my darling wife has a very amusing take on how to pack lightly for the weekend ...

HELP :!: :!: :!: :!:

I cannot really help Charles, I used to go to "Monsters Of Rock" at Donnington but we stayed either in a local hotel or b&b! :)

Salved them on car cleaning in the park and make a few quit from them!

With the line up of this years Glastonbury I would say it is a concert for oldies - Neil Young, Ray Davies [The Kinks], The Specials [Too Much Too Young], Fairport Convention, Bruce Springsteen, Georgie Fame [I Give Up!].

Give the keys and the credit cards to the kids - they'll probably be in a much better state than you at the end of the weekend.

Oh - and pack a brolly and some spare socks - I hear it might rain a little
