Had to drive a chum of mine up to London last week as he had had an emergency eye op the day before but needed to get to some meetings.

Parked in a marked bay near Berkeley Square and tried to follow the "Pay by phone" process but nobody bothered to answer the phone - so had no way to pay.

Quick call of nature later and back to the car - to find the warden ticketing the car. To my surprise the warden was very helpful in terms of logging my complaint and photographing the note I had left in the windscreen.

But I was still faced with a 40 fine - clearly a very expensive penny to spend!!!

The car behind me had arrived at the same time, had had the same phone problems and also got a ticket, so when he returned we exchanged details and agreed to act as witnesses to each other.

Filed a complaint online and today received a letter from Westminster Council saying they would cancel the fine "on compassionate grounds" Exclamation

Clearly there is a motoring god after all - but what a ridiculous system to have to follow in the first place Evil or Very Mad

Yes, it definitely seems that way.

The same day when I did test drive my B3.

Appealed and won, I also said in my appeal letter that the people that took the photo were illegally parked on a yellow line [ALLEGEDLY]. At the time I did not know why they were there.
