Hi All,
I've been registered a long while but just lurking, I've always wanted a D3 (or maybe even a D5) and keep an eye on one's for sale.
Typically ill be in the market to get one in the next week or so and they seem to be very thin on the ground!
Is anyone looking to sell?
There's a 125k mile f31 on auto trader for 16.5k, not my ideal spec or mileage but the price is making it more tempting. I'm aware of the nice blue f30 on Collecting Cars as well, watching with a keen eye.
Any leads appreciated.
Cheers,
Scott

The Alpina Blue one on collecting cars is on its third or forth dealer. I went to view it back last year when it was with a dealer here in the south west but they wouldn’t take my VW Transporter as part exchange. Interestingly it’s had a price hike of nearly £5k since I looked at it too!

That's disappointing! I'll be interested in that car up to around 20k, otherwise ill pass (it'll be nearer 22k with fees and whatnot). I saw it for sale at the last trader for 28 or 29k, its just too much.Brick_Driver wrote: Wed Jun 18, 2025 7:06 am The Alpina Blue one on collecting cars is on its third or forth dealer. I'm starting to consider the higher mileage ones in all honestly, it seems they are about 30-40% cheaper already. I intend to add some mileage and own long term so I'd end up well into 6 figure mileage anyway?
Owners seem to suggest they take the miles well and are fairly reliable, although as I'm not an owner, I don't know if this is rose tinted glasses.

Well i did it, i went for the higher mileage F31 I mention above, a few things to sort to get it up to standard (for the anorak in me!).
I was going to watch the collecting cars saloon and bid up to around 20k but with fees it would be more than what id really want to spend on a car that wasnt a touring, didnt have the drexler diff etc. It wasnt 'my' Alpina. It sold for £20,250 + 2kish fees, so i feel i made the right call for myself.
I'm looking forward to an intended long term Alpina ownership!

Congrats! Welcome to the club!
I have a feeling the one on Collecting Cars didn't "sell" as I can't see the dealer accepting a near £8k loss compared to what they have had it advertised at.
