I'm of the view that whilst I don't currently like the design direction of the grills on the new 4 series etc they might just grow on us all.

Saying that I'd definitely be keen for Alpina to try to maintain the current look. Not sure they'd be able to though as I reckon the shape of the grill and the top of the front of the car plays an important part in the crash testing, esp pedestrian safety. So it'll be cost prohibitive for Alpina to rework. It's a different prospect remodelling the splitter compared to the whole front end.

I do think the X7 has the best of the new grills though, it's a big car and can just about wear it. The new 4 is a bit bizare though

You didn’t happen to check which number this one is, did you Nick?
Sorry I didn't and I've just checked the other pics I took, I didn't get one of the interior.
No worries, I’m sure we’ll find out soon, wonder if it might be a demo/press car as it’s Alpina Blue.

Does anyone other than BMW think their new grills are stylish....I’m not likely to buy a new Alpina but I think they’d get some new fans if they re-designed the grill as part of the model upgrade.
There's an article in Autocar this week... I don't think that BMW will be changing from their new distinctive look any time soon.

Over time, they might grow on me. But I'm just not a big fan of anything 'shouty'.

A toned down Alpina-specific grille would be a welcome change in my opinion.

Be kind, please - I think the interior looks OK and if the car was alongside an equivalent American SUV (say an Esplanade), then I think the size wouldn't be the issue it is this side of the pond

I like the interior, and the colour combo 8)

Interesting that the plaque isn’t numbered - is this a US market thing?

I believe that US cars are sold as BMWs, rather than as ALPINAs and so the Buchloe numbering isn't applied
