Alpina Factory Tour
Hi, does anyone know if you can go visit the Alpina factory and do a tour? I know you can factory collect a new Alpina. This would be the next best thing for those who haven't had the luck to spec and buy new.
Has anyone on the register organised a 'pilgrimage' out there?
Having been to Marenello, planning to go to the Alfa Museum and Porsche museum, done Le Mans and the Classic, Reims, Pau plus all sorts of other similar visits, it interests me.

I don't think Alpina allow factory tours anymore.
I fondly remember going twice back in '07 and '08 - here's a link

They have stopped doing factory tours because there is so much secret R&D stuff going on from both Alpina and BMW
I'm not sure though if maybe you can see the wine cellars still

The wine warehouse is impressive but nothing to look at really. The "special" wines are kept in the cellar under the old man's house

The posts are 100% correct. It is BMW who have stopped the factory visits in the respect they have told ALPINA not to do it. There is research for the DTM cars as well as some new models of BMW it is alleged.
I was lucky enough to visit in 2015 for the 50 year anniversary, it was very interesting.

The factory is a fascinating place, but to reiterate many of the comments, there is so much development work going on, its just not possible.
It is still possible to collect a new car, but I always manage customers expectations by explaining that unless you are very lucky, you won't get past reception!
All that said, within the constraints explained, the factory personnel make visitors very welcome and the drive back across Europe in your new ALPINA still make it a worthwhile trip. Jonathan and I collected our last B5 demonstrator FE18OCC and had a memorable 800 mile road trip home, so that it could meet Jeremy Clarkson in time for its review in the Sunday Times!
