Seems strange that this lovely looking B5 sold on CC just a few weeks ago for £68.5k (I’m guessing excluding the 7% coms)

Yes, I heard similar Ade. Apparently Ed (Dick) Lovett is the principal shareholder in Collecting Cars. The suggestion was that ghost bids were at play on the CC auction and in reality it didn't sell, then it ended up at Dick Lovett as a trade sale

Yes, Ed(d?) Lovett is part of the Dick Lovett family and also a principal member of CC. Too much of a coincidence? I find the DL group to be quite 'sharky' having dealt with them for both BMW and Porsche purchases/sales, so it wouldn't be a huge surprise if shill bidding did get them some cars for stock once the 'highest bidder' disappeared at auction end. High end stock is heavily in demand by their dealers, but from experience they really do not like to pay well for it.
