It's an interesting one, this - very difficult to judge "value", as by it's very nature you are talking about a subjective assessment - what it's worth to me might not be what it's worth to the next punter.
In it's favour it has massive rarity... only 2 of these in the UK I believe, which skews the "market" in it's conventional sense. On the flipside, you're looking at £48k for a "3.5 year old 3 Series" - which is how a lot of the mainstream market views it - and so by that yardstick it's an insane price as you're into all kinds of tempting options at that level (991 Carrera for one).
Ultimately, the purchase price only matters if you are planning to sell in the next 3-5 years, as I suspect you'd take a bath on it come trade-in time. If you're planning on keeping it forever (or indeed, if you love the idea of it so much the money is irrelevant) then I'd say go for it. My Alpinas are the only cars I miss owning...

Had the car been a different colour it would have flown out. Rightly or wrongly, the silver isn't doing it any favours. I had a glacier silver F31 335i a few years ago and it's actually a really nice colour. However, most buyers seem to prefer blacks and blues. For me, the wheels and door mirror caps on this B3 also need to be silver. A pretty easy fix.
Think I said it before, but I love the spec on this one. Had it been a touring, I'd have been knocking on the door. Even if it was silver!

I *think* I’m in the same boat re the colour. This car was a serious and genuine consideration for me but I can’t shake a niggling feeling it’s priced way over the underlying value - I got to the point where I’d convinced myself I may as well spend £65k on a new one than £48k on a used silver one.MattOz wrote: ↑Thu Jan 05, 2023 7:56 pmHad the car been a different colour it would have flown out. …and then I reflect on the idea that dropping £65k on any motor heading into a recession is probably madness and go back to being a tight Yorkshireman with a filthy Golf GTE

I love the colour combination. Well overpriced. It will need to drop to below £30k. Before it’s sold. I might be wrong!!?! Cheers rob

100% agree Rob, needs to be between £25k-£30k
But it appears the dealers seem to try and get a little greedy, due to the rarity but £35k for a now 9 year old BMW with 52,500 miles on the clock is ridiculous in my opinion!

Hi mate this was my car and was kindly being sold by brother as can’t stand dealing with time wasters and dreamers, I purchased from a friend who owned form new and has been meticulously maintained and looked after in every possible way. First person to actually see it paid full asking price and couldn’t find a fault it. If one like this comes up for £25 k let me know I miss it already
