I take that back, reading their terms properly the seller is liable for the fees if they pull out for any reason other than buyer default.

I don't have the space but might not be able to resist later today!

David Simpson was recommended to me by members of the Alpina Register. At that time he was the workshop manager for Alba Motors. He was trained by Glenvargil of Edinburgh when they were the Porsche and Ferrari dealer. He now works for himself looking after high performance cars (Alpinas, Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini and BMW) and he is a master at his craft. The first job he did was replace all the discs and pads when he was at Alba. He has subsequently replaced the air suspension at the rear including the compressor. He has a garage full of Snap-on tools and has 25 years of experience of maintaining precious cars.

My memory is awful It was I back in 2018 that recommended Alba motor company for The owner of 056 to go to for servicing after we couldn't reach a deal. Alba looked after my B3 wagon for a while before David left to become a Nissan workshop manager. That is where I stopped using his services. Turns out he set up on his own and Rod the owner of 056 continued using his services

I was watching it too! I didn't realise that if there is a bid in the last minute then the clock resets to two minutes to go. Something to do with automated bidding?

I was one of the bidders and dropped out near the end with 2 others ahead of me so 056 will not be adorning my drive anytime soon

The bidding system on CC seems odd
I left at 18k
The next bid went in at 18.5k then someone threw in a bid of 20k but we had to bid in minimum 250 increments.
One would have expected ala eBay style auction for the 20k bid to step up it up to 18750 but it just ramped right up to the max bid.
Prior to this I couldn't see anything on the CC website about bid increments
I just kept going up in 250 increments as I didn't know how putting in a high top bid would go.

I don't think so
I think it was bang on the money
I sat with the owner today for an hour beside the car chatting and I told him I reckoned it'd do £20k
125k miles and 16 years old I think it was worth every penny to the buyer but I always want a bargain.
I'll get the owner to give me a shout if the sale falls through.

You have no recourse with CC if the sale goes tits up or the car is not as described They walk away with both buyer and sellers fees. I would never pay 20k for a car I had never seen or driven Seems too much of a risk Thankfully in this case the vendor is a decent chap but that is not always the case

Still far too cheap 😂😂.

Either way the e60/e61 in B5 guise is a great car 👏👏

When you put in a bid there are two options, auto bid up to which goes in the increments or live bid I think it is called where you cab go straight in with higher. Its so if someone wants to try and scare others off they can just jump 1k or whatever in one hit.

As said above, a decent price for the car in question, not a bargain but a decent deal for both sides in my opinion based on spec, miles etc.

I just hope the new owner pops up here or on the FB groups and is up for a meet and nearer than Scotland!
