E30 C "something or other"

Post by Bob » Thu Dec 16, 2021 6:17 pm

Not entirely clear what this one actually is yet ... but possibly a C1 2.3/1 from Japan. It's been spotted in the Scotland a couple of times, first time was late 2019 when it appeared to be fresh off the boat. Now coming to auction in Feb-22. Hopefully they'll post some decent pics of the engine bay/build plaque soon enough.

C1 2.3/1 [E30] #xxx; * Black/[unknown]; 1984_B; £15.0k; 13k; Auction

looks decent .... but the alpina stripe on the front wing looks a bit out of place ..... having a bit of a nose dive

It’s all a bit confusing, this is an 84 car but the C2 2.7 wasn’t released until 86 and was based on the 325i. The registered VIN for this car is apparently a 323i. And the MOT mileage of 21k km’s is surprisingly low.

Hopefully they'll post some decent pics of the engine bay/build plaque soon enough.
Plaque number 186 according to the pics, Bob.

Should’ve updated this one Roy, but it’s been confirmed as a replica. The donor car is a 323i and the C2 2.7’s were all based on the 325i, as a LHD it should have a WAP VIN, the C2 2.7 nomenclature was discontinued by #160 after which they became a B3 2.7
