For me the luxury wood completes that otherwise boring interior!

Re: F31 D3 BiTurbo #010
Hi folks, does anyone have any experience with these? I'd vowed not to buy another diseasel (sorry... ) but I know these are supposed to be rather good. It's obviously not the most exciting colour combo (wife's M135i is the same body colour but with oyster leather) but they do state that it has the 'sport differential' but it is usefully larger than the 1er and I could put a tow bar on it, so bikes on the back and roof box on err....the roof...
Any feedback from anyone in the know would be great,
Thanks, KennyP

Re: F31 D3 BiTurbo #010
I would be naturally sceptical that is has a factory LSD, very rare option. Plus the fact that the description on their website is listing a lot of the spec for the G2x D3S not an F3x D3 BT. Live Cockpit Professional, the Piano Black dash, Sport Differential and Heat Steering wheel amongst others are standard kit for the G2x D3S whereas the F3x got Myrtle Wood (what is pictured for this car) and none of the other bits as standard. I suspect they've selected the wrong vehicle model and it's pulling the wrong spec data.
This Car Comes With:
19in Alloy Wheels - ALPINA DYNAMIC, ALPINA Piano Black with Insigna, Active Guard Plus, Air Conditioning - Automatic with Three-Zone, Alarm System, BMW Connected Package Professional, BMW Live Cockpit Professional, Cruise Control with Brake Function, DAB Tuner, DSC - Dynamic Stability Control, Deco-Set Deletion, Door Sill Finishers - ALPINA Designation, Exhaust System ALPINA Stainless Steel with Double-ended Tailpipes, Extended Storage, Front Spoiler ALPINA, Headlining - Anthracite, Interior Rear-View Mirror with Automatically Dimming, LED Headlights, Loudspeaker System - BMW Advanced, Parking Assistant, Production Plaque with Production Number, Rain Sensor with Automatic Headlight Activation, Rear Spoiler - ALPINA, Seat Heating - Front, Sport Rear Differential, Sport Seats - Front, Sport Suspension ALPINA, Steering Wheel - ALPINA LAVALINA Hand Finished with Blue-Green Stitching, Steering Wheel - Heated, TPMS - Tyre Pressure Monitoring, Through-Loading System, Harman Kardon Sound System, Pro Navigation

Re: F31 D3 BiTurbo #010
Many thanks Bob, I really don't know much about that era of BMW/Alpina at all other than what I have picked up about 1er's since buying my wife's last July (and that was more case of learning AFTER buying ,oh the skills...!). We fluked it with good spec car that was only 6 miles away and tremendous history to boot!
Looking more closely at this one, the wheels and centre cap badges aren't great but it does talk of nearly new Michelins and a relatively recent service. No reg so can't check the mot history. Hmmm
Cheers

Kenny, I have owned No. 66 for a year now and find it very hard to fault. For me they are a real all-rounder. Mine also has the LSD but this was retro fitted by Birds. I see that No. 10 is missing the tailgate ALPINA badging.

Thanks Roy, I'll have a think but I get the impression that quite a bit of digging would be required here to find out the facts on this one.

Re: F31 D3 BiTurbo #010
Kenny - the reg is FJ14 FBB.
I would assume that this doesn't have an LSD unless you see the build sheet/sales invoice confirming the actual spec. If you can get the BMW VIN (starts WBA) then you can run a VIN Decoder search to find the majority of the spec for the car, but things like the LSD and ALPINA specific options won't show up there.

Re: F31 D3 BiTurbo #010
Thanks again Bob, I may sound the dealer out and point out some of their discrepancies to see if they can pass some more accurate info. The mot history is all good so it might be worth a bit more digging after all!
Thanks, KennyP

Re: F31 D3 BiTurbo #010
If it has and LSD from factory it should have a label like this on the diff.

Re: F31 D3 BiTurbo #010
Thanks Frosty, I have just noticed that 046 is up for sale at place called 'Ecomotive' which is also claiming the diff for theirs. Spec is much better with pan roof, factory tow bar etc but it's over double the miles and only around £4k less.
I think I'll keep looking/waiting for the right spec/miles combo (and ideally petrol) to show up. Drifted off into Panamera land last night..... must be patient
Cheers
