XB7 Utter madness

Post by B10BRW » Tue Jun 01, 2021 12:40 am

Who in their right mind would pay £150K for a shed on wheels, the interior looks like the inside of an amusement arcade :(

Sytner also have another one for a mere £149500

I kind of like it!

SUV’s have never been my thing but if I were in the market for a V8 RR or a Bentayga, I’d sooner go for this. It’s probably faster; undoubtedly rarer; the Alpina badge makes it cooler. It’s also comically massive which is the point, I suppose.

You’ve obviously got to not care about the fact that you can’t actually take your £150k toy anywhere without getting it smashed up in car parks. You’ve also got to be a masochist if you live either in the middle of a city or anywhere rural with tiny roads. But if you’re going to go big, you may as well go big.

I don't understand this: why does the post have to be positive, or not at all? Sounds a little too controlling for my tastes. It's not an individual being criticised: it's a car!

Personally, I'm with Brian: it's heinous. I love my Alpinas, and appreciate many other fossil and green(ish: nothing's totally green) chariots owned within the family group. This however should never have had showroom space. It's against all current clear thinking regards waste and emissions. Alpina should be in the vanguard re future engineering. This is embarrassing

Cheers

Merely a gentle mocking of a current popular trend and the implication that there is very little I find appealing here, with the exception of the seats...
(which I am surprised to find are actually a BMW option rather than a bespoke Alpina creation)

My Dad wouldn’t even buy a car with electric windows much to my annoyance as a child

“Summat else to go wrong he used to say” 😄

Not sure what he’d make of a gadget filled motor these days 🤷🏼‍♂️
