I, and I am sure plenty of others, would far rather a light coloured interior than a black one.

I've never understood the derisory comments about light coloured interiors in cars nor its association with having grand children. Anybody who orders a black interior on an Alpina is a fool in my opinion, but I keep that to myself because I can respect that other people are different to me and therefore will likely want different things.

Fool here!

I actually like both dark and light interiors. If aesthetics were the only consideration then I would probably skew towards a tan/light brown interior. However, I hate cleaning the interior of my car (despite enjoying sorting the exterior), I have a lot of pairs of blue denim jeans which love to transfer onto leather and I have two very small, very dirty children. So practicality enters the equation.

To each, his own of course.

My car's got a light beige interior - leather, carpets and headlining - along with a glass sunroof and no tint on the glass, as I prefer the light and airy feel in the cabin.

No grandchildren that I'm aware of, either!

Interior preferences are a very personal thing clearly.

I do like a quirky colour combo as Adam (Yad3100) will testify, and i've owned a few noteworthy examples both BMW and non BMW. The lighter leather shades i prefer with black carpet and black headlining for contrast.
A beige carpet is also a nightmare to keep clean but you can of course fit black mats to help.

However i have never really been able to get my head around crime scene red, other than the recent black F31 D3 which actually looked very well! (much to my confusion!) Must be a contrast thing!

I've got young, often dirty kids too, so the black interior on mine is perfect. I doubt I'd have bought it had it been a light colour.

My previous E91 330i had lemon (cream) dakota leather. My young children could leave marks and dye transfer would occur from time to time, but I found a damp microfibre cloth and a little rubbing would clean it up just fine. My wife and daughter love oyster, and if they're happy ...

Also, I too have no grandchildren and don't want any for a good while yet (a point I reiterate to kids!).
