F10 D5 BiTurbo #075 (Lavalina)

Post by Bob » Fri Mar 19, 2021 10:04 pm

One of the other D5's with Lavalina is up for sale at Rossiters. Not the most dramatic of colour schemes, don't look Brian!

Question for Asim: does this look like Lavalina 1? Looks to have leather dash top and all over the seats and door cards, but the lower dash and centre console don't.

Good question Bob, and honestly I don't know.
I suspect it's L1, as you've noted the lower dash and centre is not leather. Looks like the door cards are not full leather either, just the centre bit/door pull.
But I previously thought that with L1 was only the seat faces, but you can clearly see the whole of the seat is leather in this car - faces, backs and also the seat bases where the switches are. Unless this is a half way house spec'd by the original owner.
L1 cost £4500. L2 cost £10800. So quite a jump in price. Did it really cost £6300 to get full leather door cards, lower dash and centre console?

Some other bits of Lavalina spec trivia:
*Specing Lavalina gave you bespoke rhombs and custom steering wheel stitching as no cost option (cost option otherwise £915 & £145)
*Bicolour interior was a no cost option on L2, cost on L1.
*Leather dash top was a cost option - so also NOT included in L2. £945 option.
*Piping was a cost option - £1915

So the interior spec costs could mount up rather quickly!

Nice car this one - lovely spec but a conservative colour combo. Love the silver stitching, works well.
Also worth noting the wood is not Alpina "luxury wood" but the slightly darker BMW optional "dark ash grain wood, high gloss". It doesn't have the Alpina logo above the glovebox.

I would agree that it is L1. The D4 has L1 and the entire seat is Lavalina like this one.

It’s funny you say about the difference between 1&2 in terms of price as I was thinking about this today, it doesn’t seem to quite add up does it?

Wow, never realised that the dash top was still extra with L2, not so surprised about the piping (though not sure why). Don’t you get the boot mat and leather piped floor mats With L2?

No piped mats £200, and same additional cost for boot mat.

Agree Toby, not quite adding up for me.
Having said that, L2 does cover everything in leather - every surface of the door card (even the door pull recess), all the lower dash, right round bottom eg. the panel that's removed for accessing the cabin filters, even the side sections of the dash (where the fuses are), that the door closes to when shut. Centre tunnel right up to where the carpet starts. It's small intricate areas and maybe that's why the price is disproportionally high.

Hi all,

I have just noticed this car has come up for sale again and wondered if any one had any idea of the history. Or any impression as to the price or if anything looks off considering the last sale was 2021?

Not sure if Richard has the car on SOR, but might be worth a pm to him.

I’d not heard of #075 until it arrived at Rossiter’s last year, so no idea of the history before that unfortunately. The current seller has a good reputation from what I’ve seen, regularly sells a lot of prestige and performance cars and has plenty of ALPINA knowledge. He has also sold some cars by SoR. If you are seriously interested, probably worth a conversation to find out some more.

Excellent chaps at Rossiters too - I dealt with them for ACS springs for my previous F31 335d - the types I'd imagine would be happy to chat around their experience of the car. Lorcan is the ACS chap I think, maybe it was a Chris (?) in sales.
