E46 B3 3.3 CABRIO #098

Post by Bob » Sun Feb 28, 2021 3:15 pm

This is a rare one in Daytona Violet. Wonder if the recently replaced suspension was OE spec?

That's very nice and low miles. If its OE sec suspension, that would have been £1200 on its own before fitting.
I like the colour and the interior looks rather special.

That looks reasonable for 90K on the clock. The interior could do with a freshen up especially the shiny seats. However, Nexen tyres ....for the top end of the market is questionable...
Great colour though!

MOT history only goes back to 2009. I wonder why that is?

If earlier MOTs were done using the BMW VIN, would the two series of tests be automatically connected up?

Equally, if the car was SORN'd for a period of time, it would not need an MOT.

Does seem unusual but there are several possible (innocent) explanations

I’ve come to a similar conclusion re: MOT Histories. I saw one recently where the previous year had the car listed as an ALPINA with history going back to first MOT then after the latest test, had it as a BMW and with no history present.

These images are both for E93 B3 S BiTurbo #240 and seems to show the possibility that MOT's can indeed be logged against both VIN numbers. The reg is unchanged between the two MOT's so I don't believe it is that at play.

The history from the test in Jul-19 had an MOT in every year from 2014 to 2019 inclusive.

Thank you for some clarification gentlemen. It a reminder to keep all the service history present and correct. No wonder sometimes it can be a nightmare to get the correct parts!

Be interesting if this sells, my Techno Violet B3 cab with only 70k didn't go for anywhere near the previous asking price for this one.
The dealer who bought it from the guy I sold it to couldn't sell it at £12k :(

It’s still hanging around on Gumtree for £12.5k. The advert got refreshed again a few days ago. Maybe they’ll get a little more interest with spring and easing lockdowns coming into view. Real shame to see it sitting there when you/Barry had said it was such a good example.

It's a lovely colour but looking closely at the pictures some of the paintwork other than the rust seems to be in need of attention.
