E36 B3 3.2 Cabrio #83

Not sure if this one has been discussed before, but it looks like it's crying out to be saved:

I guess it needs a fair bit spending on it - if I had the money.....

Not so sure about the current bid seems excessive for a car not used

Agree hap, very strong money for something evidently not in great nick. Makes me feel a lot better about mine though :D

I love Estoril blue as a colour, but it's so ubiquitous on the E36 M3s that I almost think speccing an Alpina in it is a missed opportunity!

As much as I'd love that valuation to be realistic, I can't see that finding a new home anytime soon. That's a big project once you get into it, for sure.

Agree - it does look pretty far gone. It’s sad to see it in that condition.

I note it’s not in the Archive - has it flown under the radar for all these years?

Certainly, it's a new one for me. It's probably not published in the Archive as there haven't been any good images to use, but I'll get it checked out

A shame how these beautiful cars can fall into this level of disrepair

Sadly, it’s an age old problem that affects many cars. I believe this has been with the current owner since 2002.

It was clearly loved at some point - it had a decent plate on it and the advert states he used to take it to shows etc. He’s even called AlpinaPete!

I can’t stop looking at the advert and imagining a full restoration back to its former glory. It would never make economic sense, but would bring a great deal of satisfaction.

I’m aware of only one b3 3.2 coupe on a S plate and this one I doubt without looking that there will be any other variants in estriol blue on the e36

Have a banter Paul with the history provided it could be Uber cool motor

I’m dreaming tbh hap - I’d need a small lotto win to fund it. Although swapping the 996 for it has crossed my mind.

As you say, it would be a beautiful thing - I can just imagine cruising around in the summer with that straight 6 burbling away and a magic carpet ride!
