Just came across this - yes it was my car until December 2020!! It’s a superb car and I’m delighted it’s eventually gone to someone who’ll appreciate it! I can vouch for the fact that it’s a completely genuine car, and even if I say so myself I really did look after it, as did the person I originally bought it from a few years ago! The c30,000 miles that I put on the car was ALWAYS powered by Shell V Power diesel - I think the engine deserves it.
Here’s what happened with the Collecting Cars auction. It sold and I was perfectly happy with the £23k I got for it. The buyer was a youngish man from London. It seems he bought a little in haste, as he only drove it to London from Swansea and very shortly after it was up for sale again. I strongly suspect he hadn’t fully researched the car and perhaps found it was liable for a hefty daily ULEZ charge of c£12.50 PLUS Congestion Charge if it was to stay in London. Either that, or he thought he could flip the car, but I doubt that’s the case. Or of course his circumstances simply changed.
Anyway, if you google the (correct!) reg you’ll see all the photos I had taken for the auction. And if you go on Instagram and search for “Crystal Clear Auto Detailing” and scroll down you’ll see a video of when I had a full Feynlab coating put on the car (worth looking it up - it’s fantastic and Crystal Clear are one of a handful of UK official installers). I had a top up full valet done just before selling the car as the guy who owns Crystal Clear is a good friend of mine. He and his boys worked incredibly hard on that finish which will last you for years - you’ll see when you wash it that dirt just disappears! It also self heals any small scratches in sunlight.
I changed the car for something completely different (an S63AMG Cabriolet) as I just fancied a change of daily driver. I’m lucky to have a manual 991.2 GT3 and SLS too, and my wife’s car now has sufficient space for the odd time I need extra luggage space.
By the way, worth noting that you should get a few hundred for the registration number......!

I became aware of Collecting Cars through this car about a week after your auction had completed, so i have been through the photo's countless times since. Indeed if i had known of the auction i would likely have been bidding myself!
However despite the photos, and the Crystal Clear Feynlab video i was still absolutely blown away by the condition of the car when i first saw it in the metal, an absolute credit to you, its stunning.
It did surprise me to see the car up for sale a few weeks after you sold, which obviously set alarm bells ringing and what with lockdown etc it would be difficult for me to get to see it so i never contacted the owner. I did have all the thoughts you mentioned though, such as ULEZ charge, change of circumstance etc.
Then when Sytner got the car it brought it much closer to my neck of the woods and although with the corresponding price hike, a lot of peace of mind with BMW approved used warranty. So i contacted them and suggested an offer i didnt think they'd accept and after a little haggling i got what i wanted!
Into day 4 of ownership i have covered approx 500 miles both for pleasure and work and i am more than impressed with the car. The only problem so far is the faster you go, the better the car feels which may one day get me into trouble!
Sounds like you have quite a varied fleet too so hopefully you're not missing the car too much!
Cheers, Marc.
