If you not done so Marc 76, have a look either the Westfalia or PF Jones websites - you can download the fitting instructions for the towbars (and the electric packs too) - these will give you a good idea of whether there is any fettling required.

If it helps, here's the one for the F11: https://www.pfjones.co.uk/bmw-5-series- ... owbar.html

Having fitted 3 bars on my 2 E91s and an X1, I can vouch that Westfalia kits are comprehensive and straightfoward to fit - I wouldn't fit anything else (and that includes the electrics)

That's just what i'd do- my current car has a factory fit detachable Westfalia and my previous E46 was also fitted with an aftermarket Westfalia from PF Jones! (by me) Both have never given any trouble, quality kit from my experience :)

One thought about that Westfalia towbar, does it fit a car with quad exhausts? Pictures only show it fitted to a 520/525d with exhaust on the passenger side.

Fair point - if it helps, my 335d has twin outlets and Westfalia had a handy bracket (additional part) to hang the drivers side from. It will probably be in the fitting instructions if there is one - assuming that other 5-series have twin silencers?

Should be ok then, the 535's have exhausts on both sides (only singles) but I've no idea how the silencer arrangements underneath will compare to an ALPINA setup

This one still strikes me as a little odd (I've been watching it  )...put up for sa;e within a few weeks, and not after a quick buck as its dropped to below the price it was purchased for on collecting cars and hasn't used a photo of the car in a new location, just recycled the collecting cars photoshoot. Hardly the sales pitch of a lifetime in the ad either considering that its now a loss.

Am I the only one smelling something odd? Only ask because I was also very tempted even though I'm not really looking to change cars until we finally try to get back to normal life. Not many D5 touring's with <80K around lately.

Only 16 of these anyway, so very slim pickings unless you bring one in from over the pond.

I also thought it was a bit suspicious, but you don't tend to see the fake/scam/fraudulent ads on AT where you need to pay to advertise. eBay/Gumtree/Marketplace are much easier to hack if that's your objective.

Agree, its a bit of an odd situation to be selling a car little more than two weeks after buying it. And such a poor ad with hardly any description and recycled photos :?

Now at Sytner ... yours for £29k and assuming you aren't thrown off by the fact it's advertised as a B5S :think

I'm amazed at the amount of cars inaccurately designated and poorly described by Sytners.

Some mark up too, but to be expected i suppose.

So today i became the new owner of F11 D5 Touring #049. :D
Agreed a deal i was very happy with at Sytner Nottingham a couple of weeks ago and collected this morning.
From the previous collecting cars photoshoot it could be seen the car was already in really great condition but Sytners have taken it a step further with a front bumper / apron repaint, alloy refurb and new tyres. It is a very very nice car and a credit to Rhodri who owned it until last December.
Cant wait to get to know it a little better over the weekend!

PS the eagle eyed spotters amongst you may notice the number plate is incorrect; they made it wrong but is now corrected.
It will have my own plate on anyway as soon as the V5 drops though my door :D
