Well, now it's on Sytner's main site it turns out (rather disappointingly) that it's a saloon not a Touring

Could be tempting, what do we know about the spec?

Also on the site says it is a B5?

Just spoke to Sytner, who shared some pics and the build details. Car has not been driven for a number of years as the owner passed away and it sat in the garage but it has been started on a regular basis.

One question though, did the E39 B10 have Comfort Seats or did they only come with Sports Seats?

They came with both, the seats without the adjustable thigh support were known as Comfort seats.

I recall having Comfort Seats in my E39 530i Sport and they were great, this one has the Sports Seats. I prefer the Comfort option. The car has a good spec with a total price of £109, 902, but no Sunroof. The salesmen did the usual 'we have had lots of calls', I asked about a deposit to hold but the only option he gave was £1000 deposit, they start work on the car, then you pay the balance and tax it before taking it away, oh and a short drive around the block "click and collect"!

From what I’ve seen, it’s more often the cars with Nappa leather that have comfort seats, might have been dependent options. The comfort seats have the extra adjustment in the upper backrest too as another way to identify them.

Can you share the pics and spec sheet Avtar?

Not sure why I always feel like a second class citizen owning a saloon car, still can't understand why the estates are so popular on here :)

Here are the details, would this be a good purchase?
£20k seems a bit steep for a 2001 B10 even with low mileage, would definitely need to get a full checkover to make sure there's no rust in the usual areas or leaks around the valve covers/valley pan which are common etc, but I still wouldn't be prepared to pay that kind of money for it. Also very hard to take Sytner seriously when they advertise it as a B5 estate!

I do appreciate the practicality of an estate, especially with a kids, etc. I have never owned an estate but have had a 4x4 so do understand, however, personally I prefer the look of the saloon.

The car would be part of the 'Sytner Select' scheme with 6 months warranty, not a BMW Approved warranty.

Sorry Barry! :P
Whilst it is true I personally prefer a Touring from a styling perspective, the “disappointingly” comment was also in reference to the inaccurate description and the additional rarity of a B10 V8(/1) Touring versus their more plentiful saloon counterparts.

Thanks Avtar.
FYI the prices on the spec sheet are presumably in DM’s, I know the spec sheet for my B3 is so depending on the fx rate you can probably nearly half the total for GBP.

Nice car that Avtar.
Standard sports seats are very good - the E39 comforts have a very flat seat base (many ditch them for E38 versions which are a lot better)
That new price is definitely not Sterling, they were around £60k new, depending on options

@BarryM - think the Touring desirability comes from the extra practicality box being ticked. When you look at the Alpina car being similar performance to the M variant, the Touring piece adds that extra specialness over an M option (particularly 3 as there was no M Tourer)
