Remember this car well
It's right up your street isn't it Metrics.

The current owner is on some of the FB groups, so it's still around.
It is!
I remember it coming up for sale, the pictures of the interior didn't do it justice as the looked almost baby sick orange!

The most bizarre coincidence a few weeks after it sold, I bumped into the owner at a train station up north! I was getting out of a taxi and he was waiting to pick up his partner from the station. Went along and chatted Alpina with him and almost missed my train home!!

Yes, #051 was around a good while but did sell in the end somewhere round £20k.

Not quite sure what happened to #092, it was announced as being imported to Thailand last year but it's not showing up as Exported although it hasn't had a recent MOT or tax for a while. Advertised around the same time as #051 but it's pricing was much more varied, anywhere between £30k & 21k.

Also as the engine is a “hot vee” gaskets and pipes can perish due to the high engine bay temps.

No, I don’t have any specific knowledge of them, was just trying to show that I don’t believe any of the UK cars have gone significantly over the 100k so it’s a bit of an unknown really.

Looking at the biggest use pool of Alpina’s there is only 1 of that engine type over 100k miles for sale. Make of this info want you will.

#003 was mine for the last five years (70k miles) it has a full history file with it, all main dealer, at least it had when I dropped it off.

This car had a 5 year service pack on it from new and full BMW warranty, I let that lapse a few years ago when the renewal price went up by 150%

The only issue I am aware of on these engines is the cv pipes going brittle or blocking - I had a complete set of new ones fitted at around 70k just as a precaution, the receipts are in the file. Diff seals showed some slight weeping and I had both replaced other than that it has just been prompt main dealer servicing, it has also had a new battery which I think is a pretty regular issue - they seem to have a max 10 year shelf life or a cycle limit.

The car has now had front end paint - it was covered in stone chips when I said goodbye to it.

The tyres are all Pirelli P Zero 'ALP'

If you want any other info you can always pm me.

Good info Ken, thanks.

Have you found a replacement for the B5, I imagine a suitable replacement/upgrade is hard to find.

There wasn't very much variety when most of the UK B5's were ordered. Of the 21 UK cars, I have specs for 20 of them:
- 8 have black leather,
- 7 oyster.
Then there are:
- 2 with Lavalina II and,
- one each of venetian beige, ivory white and silk grey
Great info Bob - does that include the Tourings?

Personally, I wanted a black interior as it's a daily car and we have 2 kids. As beautiful as the lighter interiors look, it would have been a lot of work to keep clean.
That was just F10's, below includes Tourings too ... but there's a further one saloon and one touring that haven't been spotted to date.
Have you got his for the xd3?
