E46 B3 3.3 Saloon in Green #160
E46 B3 3.3 Saloon in Green #160
Hi All
Have we had this one come through before? It's #160 and it shows on the archive but not on the register.
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... 4612507917
There's three adverts for it on FB Marketplace, one at £6,500, one at £5.795 and one at £5,395 so it's all very inconsistent. Also it appears to have some time off the road between 2012 and 2019 looking at this MOT rap sheet. And then it's had a new owner in Nov 2019 and then again in Jan 2020. Also it's got an export marker against it, which may explain the 7 years "off" the road.
I did think this might be the green saloon that was in multiple shades discussed previously but checking the threads that was #165.
Still, it could make a nice project and I've always like Alpinas in green. Better cars out there no doubt, but my last project car, an Audi A3, was an MOT failure I picked up for £250, which I fixed for £81 and ran for six months before selling last week for £700 so I am a bit of a sucker for a car down on its luck.
Thoughts? Worth a punt if below £5,000?

Re: E46 B3 3.3 Saloon in Green #160
There’s a more recent ad in one of the FB groups now down to £4695. It also states that it’s a CAT D due to roof damage which it doesn’t sound like has been repaired.
Based on the advert, the seller obviously doesn’t know a great deal about Alpina or this specific car, but that doesn’t mean if you go in eyes open it couldn’t be a viable prospect. The roof damage will be the decider though as a new skin will be big bucks if that’s what is needed.

Splendid, thanks for that, especially the part re Cat D. I had been looking at it late last night and could have sworn I'd read it was Cat D but couldn't find that reference this morning. Proves I am not losing my mind!

This is back on marketplace again. Same error-ridden advert but another different seller name.

It’s a great looking car - I do like Boston Green.

That's one of a few errors in that ad. There weren't any UK E46 B3 3.3 Saloons built in Boston Green, so unless it's been repainted ... it was originally Fern Green with Montana rather than Nappa Leather.

Ah fair enough. I’ve just looked up the colours and I think I like Fern Green even more. Seems to shine more gold in the light.

This has been advertised again, apparently it's now a Japanese import

Re: E46 B3 3.3 Saloon in Green #160
I have this car saved in my Facebook marketplace and whilst it's the same advert, albeit with a few text changes, the poster's name keeps changing. Currently it's Don, previously it was Braian and it was something else in between.
Everything about it shouts dodgy to me, which is a shame because the car itself could make a nice project for somebody. Hell, I'd give it a home if I could face dealing with the purchase process.

That is Fern Green.
I have to admit that shade is a Favourite of mine also.

It’s bloody tempting to get this as a project but to get it “right” it will probably need 5k put into at least.

Good price despite all the iffy bits
Re: E46 B3 3.3 Saloon in Green #160
It will end up as a parts car especially as it has a Cat D against it. Sad really, as It looks quite nice.
