E46 B3 3.3 #061
Well, this has surfaced again, now at a dealer sporting silver dekor, asking £14k and no increase in mileage since it was auctioned.

Agreed, it's had some detailing which does look good and the inlet manifold has been painted/touched up but the addition of the ALPINA bonnet & boot roundels is a shame and it's still got the ALPINA script boot badge that looks like someone used random fridge magnet letters. Personally I would prefer it to be all original and without the side stripes, just the splitter, for that kind of asking price.
As has been said before, buying from a private seller is often the way to get a realistic purchase price, once it ends up with a dealer it'll be languishing there a while I'd expect. The £7.5k private sale or £6k auction price look like a bargain now!
There doesn't seem to be much market for £10k+ B3 3.3 saloons, just look at how long #236 & #450 have been bouncing around.

Makes my B3 3.3 Cab look a bargain
Re: Techno violet E46 B3 saloon fully loaded
I’m the seller of the B3, I bought it from the auction at Perth, I have a few classic cars and bought it because it looked like it had good potential, it’s had a lot more than just a quick detail.
Here is a quick rundown
Cost inc delivery £6250
Interior partial re trim and re connolise by leather are in Warrington (the interior now looks virtually new)
£1650
Strip and re paint down both sides, done properly not a quick blow over £1800
Wheels stripped and powder coated £350
Detailing £250
Decals, badges etc £380
Full service £220
New front wishbones and tracking 285
Add to that the mot and warranty I will have to give and you can see why it’s priced as it is, it might hang around a while but I’m pretty sure you would be hard pressed to find a nicer example, I have changed the non original rear Alpina lettering on the boot lid.

Evosal, welcome to the forum. It's a really beautiful car and you've clearly done a great job of getting it up to scratch. Fair play to you for doing so, the car deserves it and not many would approach this like you have. Love love love the interior
Hope someone buys it and continues to cherish it.

Agreed. I think many under-estimate the costs involved to properly prepare a car for sale and then begrudge the profit. I have not looked in detail at th work done but the costs are in-line with expectations.
Re: Techno violet E46 B3 saloon fully loaded
Evosal, as said above, welcome to the forum.
It’s difficult to appreciate that that level of work has been undertaken from the pictures and description but certainly, that shows clearly a significant investment in your car. Sadly, previous experiences suggest, that level of diligence isn’t always the case where significant price rises are seen. Good luck with the sale.

Stunning looking Car and Quality work done
As I am giving my B3 a Summer/lock-down wash and brush up,
I know how the costs can add up.

Re: Techno violet E46 B3 saloon fully loaded
That is a lovely looking car.
I nearly bought that from the guy selling in Scotland originally via this forum. I had even bought a one way ticket, before the B3 i currently have was offered to me.
I really love the colour and the work that the car has had carried out, makes it even more stunning. The colour is glorious and the stripes set the car off. I have been warned not to add the stripes to my car as it is very marmite, but your car looks better with them.
Congratulations.

Re: Techno violet E46 B3 saloon fully loaded
Nice as it there are others that will come along at the same money that will either seem cheap compared to this b3 or make this b3 look expensive. either way, this one doesnt get bought at 14k even in a strong market
i wouldnt put mine up for 14k

Re: Techno violet E46 B3 saloon fully loaded
For the B3S, my current estimate of midpoint prices for E46 variants is as follows: Tourings are about £13-14k, Coupes and Cabs are £12-13k and Saloons at about £11-12k
For the 3.3, I would drop these ranges by about a grand - so £10-11k for this particular car is a realistic midpoint.
Given the work done and the appearance, it is "worth" top end of that which is about what has been spent on it - but let's see what the market decides.
