I guess for something a bit specialist, timing is everything.
I was a cash buyer for my 330d after a fruitless look for a nice D3/D4 at the same price... then it popped up just as I was on holiday!
Four months earlier and I'd have bitten.
As others have said, lovely, lovely car and colour but knowing what it was being offered at there's no way I'm tempted to line a traders pocket with £10k for £150 worth of valeting...
I'm back on the sit and wait strategy for the right car at the right price!!

That must be really irritating!
The most over-priced must be this Melbourne Red D4 #033 at £46k but it does have a nice plate with it.

Yes, it was a bit. Ever the optimist, another will be along in time.CaesarBob wrote:That must be really irritating!

£46k. That's pretty heroic.

Hi, 016 is interesting as it's the PR / Sutcliffe / Autocar long termer. High on miles and seen by plenty on youtube drifting around the place. I guess I'm just a little nervous on that one given it's early history - appreciating it was probably pampered during the period.CaesarBob wrote:Have you seen:Biggles330d wrote:Yes, it was a bit. 042 - Red leather... I just don't like it and am baffled why anyone would choose it on an alpina or the many other 3 series you see with it!
Being picky, criteria would be probably a 65/66 plate, D3 with through-load (it'll get used regularly and that's a very handy feature) or Touring or D4 with the same, pro-nav, HK, not black or white, no red leather, preference for blue or green, ideally under 50k miles.
FSH and well cared for example, naturally.
The premium over and above a regular 330 /335 is so much that it has to be a bit special in spec / look / features (while still being discrete) and not just look like a standard 330/335 on big wheels.
One will come up at some point. The plan is for it to be a keeper so happy to wait for the right one.
Makes sense if you're looking for a keeper.
Red leather is an interesting one, personally i like it, but i'm not a fan of the lower dash being red.
Will keep my eye's peeled for anything interesting ... presuming you have already seen the D3 Touring on AT for £28.5k. Possibly a bit old as a 14 and only has Business rather than Pro-Nav, but does have Adaptive Suspension & HUD.

I hadn't seen that one on AT. It does look good though.
The attraction of the 65/66 plate is that its based on the LCI model.
Ref. the adaptive suspension, I know its an option on the regular M-Sport but I thought one of the key differences on the Alpina was that it has tuned / unique Alpina suspension so don't they all have the adaptive suspension mentioned in the Ad or does Alpina offer a 'standard' and 'Adaptive' version of its own tuning?

From what I've seen the LCI changes for the F3x are pretty minor in the grande scheme, and particularly compared to the comprehensive range of upgrades they made to the E9x.Biggles330d wrote:The attraction of the 65/66 plate is that its based on the LCI model.
I think the adaptive suspension in reality just gives a switchable option between Comfort, Sport & Sport+. The differences between Alpina & M-Sport are still in the base settings (spring rate/damping).Ref. the adaptive suspension, I know its an option on the regular M-Sport but I thought one of the key differences on the Alpina was that it has tuned / unique Alpina suspension so don't they all have the adaptive suspension mentioned in the Ad or does Alpina offer a 'standard' and 'Adaptive' version of its own tuning?

Yep, been watching that one since about January. It ticks an awful lot of boxes but has been more than I've wanted to pay. It's starting to drift down in price finally. I've got a fair idea where my trigger point on it is and am hoping just a bit it gets there before anyone else has it!hap wrote:Agree I looked at a lci d3 and struggled to see any difference

It's stunning have you called them ? You never know a deal may be had to move it from their forcourt due to length of time they have only modestly reduced it few times
