Alpina Blue B10 V8
Alpina Blue B10 V8
In reviewing all the logical UK cars for sale websites, there seems such an enormous variance of prices on Alpina B10s at the moment.
I would also add, that whilst one's view of what is a good car, is highly objective, I would err that this is a very good car in comparison to much of what is on sale. The best comparison, is probably the 82,000 mile Alpina Blau car sold by Old Colonel by a friend of mine, last year at its asking price of £20k.
My car is a very early car from the first year of production 1997, in Alpina Blau, with what I am told is an Individual Lavalina interior, in black, with the infinitely adjustable Contour seats. Day to day, I run a new set of OEM Alpina charcoal mats that I bought to preserve the very, very rare Alpina stripy mats that came with these very early cars. The original mats have been deep cleaned, and are preserved for the select few days that warrant their use. The most recent photoshoot for Octane Magazine, for example.
It no longer wears its Gingicators, having been converted by BMW to facelift lights in 2003 (Invoice on file), and it wears just a set of front Deco stripes. I haven't requested the full specification from BMW, but from immediate knowledge it has cruise control, electric folding mirrors, electric sun roof, heated front seats, rear parking sensors.
It is one of four cars that I own, a modern, this, a seventies supercar, and a sixties muscle car. It sees pretty much weekly use, and has been serviced annually in my ownership, twice by Munich Legends (84k, 88k), and most recently by BMR Performance (92k). It is currently wearing circa 94k.
Wheels are unmarked, restored naturally by Lepsons, with all valves, badges and seals replaced. Pilot Sport 4s all round, including the spare (fully laser-aligned).
Whilst prior to me it spent a decade in the doldrums with a septuagenarian owner who managed to cover just 4,000 miles in that period, the car has been very, very well maintained in my ownership, including:
Bosch OEM Battery and battery retention bar (fitted integrated trickle charger)
Bosch Spark Plugs
Brembo discs, pads and wear sensors all round
Braided brake hoses, 5.1 fluid changed twice in my ownership
Bosch air and pollen filters, and OEM microfilmers
Oil filter housing mounts
Front lower wishbone bushes and nearside arms
Front shock absorbers
Rocker cover gaskets
Coolant thermostat
Cooling viscous coupling
Coolant expansion tank
Coolant
Boot lid micro switch
Ignition switch
Front wheel arch liners
OEM grilles
OEM plaque
OEM trunk lid badge
OEM wheel badges
Seat adjustment panel trim
Centre console sliding cubby
Front drinks can holders
Door mirror motor mechanism
Windscreen seal
Washer jets and feed pipes, including intensives
High level brake light unit
Air bag control unit
Exterior temperature sensor, plug, and pins
Offside wheel speed sensor
Immobiliser Key
Wheel speed sensor
Full paint correction earlier this year
Custom car cover will be included in the sale. B10BOV registration available by separate negotiation.
Price? Like I said, I am finding it too hard to navigate the market, but a knowing buyer will discern that this is a very good car, get in touch, and we can discuss from there.
