2004 Alpina Roadster S Lux #073 - Sold
2004 Alpina Roadster S Lux #073 - Sold
Hi all, I'm posting this on the forum in the hope of finding an enthusiast owner. The plan would be to advertise it on the open market in a couple of weeks time if we find no takers here. Here we go...
I have owned this vehicle for the last 12 years but due to decreasing year on year use I have decided to list it for sale. It has been well looked after and is not used during the winter months (SORN'd and garaged/covered/trickle charged between October and March every year without fail). The exterior is finished in Black Sapphire metallic and is complemented by the Dream Red leather interior. With it being the Lux model, it comes with Extended Leather, Sat Nav, MFSW, ISOFIX, Parking Sensors, CD changer, Bluetooth Phone Prep, Cruise Control, Alpina Wind Deflector and Xenon Headlights in addition to the standard spec. With 86.5k on the clock it is a nice useable example and will not likely plummet in value if you decide to take it to the shops one day.
The Alpina Roadster S is a real alternative to the BMW Z4M. Just 167 examples were brought into the RHD UK market and with 300bhp/362Nm on tap, performance in 0-62 terms is broadly similar. Top speed is 169mph as opposed to the 155mph (limited) on BMW models. Given the low production numbers the vehicle is registered as PLG meaning a lower rate of RFL. In addition, with a large proportion of parts being standard BMW Z4 items, it means running costs are significantly lower than the M alternative.
The vehicle has a full-service history with key services/dates/mileages as follows:
PDI on 17/6/04 - BMW
Running in service on 31/7/04 at 1,325 miles - BMW
Oil Service on 17/2/06 at 15,084 miles - BMW
Inspection 1 on 22/2/07 at 24,389 miles - BMW
Oil Service on 10/9/08 at 37,878 miles - Independent
Inspection 2 + Brake Fluid on 10/9/09 at 55,560 miles - BMW
Oil Service on 24/11/10 at 69,215 miles - Independent
Inspection 1 + Brake Fluid on 26/4/12 at 74,239 miles - Independent
Oil Service on 12/3/14 at 79,859 miles - Independent
Inspection 2 + Brake Fluid + Compression Test on 7/8/15 at 82,304 miles - Independent
Oil Service + Coolant on 4/8/17 at 84,565 miles - Independent
Inspection 1 on 30/8/19 at 86,210 miles - Independent
You may note that the 2021 service was "missed" but this was due to taking the vehicle off the road earlier than usual last year. The car is booked in for an oil service and brake fluid change on 16 April 2022. Given that less than 300 miles have been covered since the last Inspection 1, I don't imagine this will be a big issue but will disclose it all the same.
The following mild modifications have been carried out to the vehicle:
Bilstein B12 Suspension
Storm Motorwerks V1 Gear Knob
Royal Steering Wheel Retrim
These items really do enhance the feel and handling of the vehicle, but should you wish to return it to factory spec, the original items have been retained and will be included in the sale. A hard-wired dash cam is also fitted and included.
I am advertising the vehicle at £16,750 which I feel is about right given the few examples that I have seen advertised/sold in the recent past. Location wise, I appreciate that I am probably a million miles away from most prospective buyers (North-East Scotland to be exact), but I am happy to accommodate reasonable travel expenditure to the successful buyer if it helps. Transport links are pretty good with Aberdeen airport being just 10 minutes away from me.
As a final note I'm not looking for part ex offers or receiving "what's your best price" or "£xxxxx cash" messages. I am happy to discuss with interested parties but if you are unable or unwilling to fund the asking price, then I would suggest that this vehicle is not for you. Please note that the vehicle registration is now FH04 PKZ.

Hi there, as it was parked in the garage for most of its time with me, I very rarely saw it too! That's it away and heading back south again.
