E92 B3 bi turbo #159 for sale. The best available?
Hello all,
It is with a very heavy heart that I need to put my E92 up for sale. I am only selling as am about to embark on an unexpected building project which means I won't be able to keep the car as it deserves for the foreseeable future. It also makes sense for me to consolidate cars, as building houses is expensive!
She is #159, a 2008 E92 B3 bi-turbo in Black Sapphire with creme/beige dakota interior. Front and rear seats are all fitted with Alpina roundels. The condition of this car, inside and out, is fantastic. Unmarked 19" classic wheels with Michelin Super Sports all around (4mm rears and 7mm fronts).
My car is a future classic, of that I have no doubt, if kept as it has been up until now.
Factory options fitted are: auto dimming mirrors, folding wing mirrors, sliding front armrest, DAB radio, upgraded speaker system and USB interface. The navigation DVD was updated in 2014.
There are no faults at all, everything works as it should.
At present the mileage is just 43,300, with a full BMW main dealer service history. The last service was at 42,200 miles. One previous owner, myself being the second.
MOT runs until October. It passed the last without any advisories.
Two of the common high-ticket faults with the N54 engine have been addressed. At 32,000 miles the High Pressure Fuel Pump was replaced and at 36,000 both turbos were replaced due to wastegate rattle.
The car comes with a folder full of receipts, all old MOTs, 2 Alpina keys, 4 wheel cover keys, full book pack and a bespoke Stormforce outdoor weatherproof cover.
I have only owned the car since October 2021. It was my intention to keep it for the foreseeable future and keep it in the condition it is. However, this is now not practical so here we are.
In my ownership I have completed the following, all genuine BMW parts:
New BMW boot roundel.
Four new ISOFIX point covers (as the originals were scuffed)
Both side indicators complete (the original lenses were starting to fade).
I have also refurbished all four brake callipers and wheel hubs and tidied up the engine bay and replaced all accessible nuts and bolts with stainless steel items.
I understand that this car will be a very niche market and valuing is very difficult. So I have used the price I paid and adjusted it downwards to hopefully be realistic. I am asking £15,500 for the car. Please note the reg number will be FJ08 FEF.
The following pictures should give a good indication of the car. Please PM me if you require more pictures or information and I will supply a telephone number. The car is located in Spalding, Lincolnshire.

Thank you.
She really is a good 'un.
It is a sad day TBH. I hope I've set a realistic price, but hard to judge.

Lovely car Pondrew, I know you will be sad to see it go. Someone will get a very special car.
I used to have 2 boys and a girl, now I have 2 men and a woman.

Considering the mileage, the condition, the history, and I believe that its one of 50 original UK cars - some of which will inevitably not be viable any more, then in my opinion your price is a little low, but probably at a level that should sell in a reasonable time.I hope I've set a realistic price ...

Judging by the interest I've had so far, I think you may be right Tony. I was never destined to be rich, anyway.
C'est la vie.

Given the used car market has heavily shifted prices upwards in recent times with only 43k miles I'd say £18k all day long for this

Can you not put the builders off for a year or so as the cost of construction materials has shot up hugely over covid.
An 3/4 8x4 sheet of OSB used to be £16 now its £40

This is a fantastic looking car.
I definitely think you should keep it too. A building project sounds no where near as much fun as B3 ownership!

Believe me it isn't. However, houses make money and cars lose money (well they used to).ScooBeeFive wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 10:48 pmThis is a fantastic looking car.

Seriously it is purely because I won't have the time to look after her and the last thing I would want is for #159 to be sat in the rain unloved for 2 years. She needs to be looked after.
PS I do think I may have underestimated the market, though. Never mind.

Hi, still available?
Re: E92 B3 bi turbo #159 for sale. The best available?
At present, yes. A couple of serious enquiries (and a couple of not-so-serious). After being let down earlier this week I'm not going to count my chickens. So at present it hasn't sold, or been viewed.
