Not at all controversial Rav ... it’s a fact
I really wish you guys would stop putting pictures up of alpina tourings, I’m starting to hanker after one, so maybe the M3 is in threat.

CB I’ve looked at the archive but it’s a bit difficult to navigate, how many E30 and E36 tourings in uk?

Adam, Now you have got me started.

How about an E46 M3 Touring. A few have been built, some better than others.

E36 is easy, there were 5 originally and I know the whereabouts of 4. The fifth, its last MOT expired in 2009 so not too optimistic for it's survival.

E30's are much trickier as no-one knows how many were ever produced. Of the ones I've come across, none are in possession of a valid MOT currently. The best hopes of survivors are: an ALPINA Blue C2 2.5 and a Zinnobar Red C2 2.7 last seen in RoI and Simon13's old black C2 2.7 which was being restored by a friend of his. Haven't seen any updates on it in a few years though. There was also a very crispy looking White C2 2.5 on eBay last year which was the car to most recently have held an MOT (expired Jan-19)

Rav, to be honest I not a big fan of the E46, Marc 76 had a 330d saloon which was rapid and I spent a number of years following it all over Uk and to the Ring. But I didn’t gel with the M3 I had the seats were awful and I couldn’t get a comfortable driving position. I much prefer the E30 as I seem to have a lot of confidence in the chassis and I’ve maintained a few. The E36 is very similar to driving a e30, just a bit bigger. The E46 however is like driving a much more modern car.

I don't know for certain, but the thought process is, I think these new pics are a Black or Dark blue car with Black leather, so ...
Of the nine 3.3 Tourings:
Two are ALPINA Blue, one is Estoril & one is Techno Violet so it isn't them.
One is Carbon Black but has Light Silver Grey Nappa
Two are Black Sapphire, one with Light Beige Montana (not this car) and the other Black Montana, but that one is owned by elan who recently converted it to manual (doubt it is that one)
The other two are Orient Blue, both with Black Montana. One is owned by asp and recently for sale on PH and here. I believe a sale is being negotiated but not completed yet so therefore that only leaves the other Orient Blue car which is the one in this original post that i believe is #145.

Yep agree with the synopsis Bob
Does look like very black and appears it has paddles on steering wheel

I'd missed the paddles, good spot.

Plus this one is LCI with PDC in the rear bumper plastic trim rather than the lower grill area as is asp's pre-LCI in Orient Blue.

Looks like this one has been acquired by a BMW specialist in Dartford.
That looks mighty fine!

my understanding was this

14 E30 c2 2.7 tourings
5 e36 3.2s. Alpina made a 3.0 touring but none made it here
9 e46 3.3 touring
8 e46 3.4 tourings

e91 petrol tourings are very low numbers

Yep, no debate on the Buchloe built cars, but the for the Sytner built E30's, who the feck knows!

A few of the E36 3.0 wagons have been here in the past but not sure they're still here. As far as i know they were all LHD.

Don't for get the Japan-only B6 2.8 Tourings, there's at least one of them here these days.

Simon, the phrase “very low numbers” seems a but absurd give the total from the table above is just 36 cars over 3 generations. Finding a green touring is looking close to impossible, even though I think you had one as you shared a pic recently. Maybe this will become my next quest. :doh

There are 2 green E36’s, both owned by the same person last I heard. One is the manual Simon owned/converted.

The E91’s are even lower numbers: 1x B3 and 3 x B3S
