2011 B3 S Biturbo Convertible

Post by kaiser01 » Wed Oct 07, 2020 8:17 pm

Hi All,

I've decided to sell my B3 S Biturbo. It's number 223 (it's on the register, but under my old account that I couldn't get the password to reset on).

I've owned it since 2014. I bought it from Sytner Nottingham. It has a full Sytner service history and has been kept in great condition. It's done 37,526 miles, of those 24K have been whilst I've owned it.

It's been under warranty with BMW since I bought it from Sytner, first the AUC then the fully comprehensive BMW insured policy which it is still on at the moment.

I've always treated it the the upmost mechanical sympathy, never WOT before the oil is up to temp and its been run on v-power (or the best grade possible in Europe). I've used it mostly for long journeys and trips on the continent. Last year (before the curse of Covid) I took it to Munich for a conference / Oktoberfest jolly and naturally popped into the factory on the way. It reached just over 280kph with ease on the A 96 in 25 degree weather. At this point the rate of acceleration drops off, but the final 20kph would be achievable if you were braver than I.

The reason for selling it is that I've got other cars that do a similar job to this; fast, comfortable GTs and I'd like something a bit more involved. So the plan is to get a nice Z4M or M3 CS. Nat asp, manual and a bit more raw (Z4) than the B3. Plus, I've never has an M-Car which is something I need to correct.

I though I'd give the forum the first opportunity on this as I'd rather it went to an enthusiast. However, if not it will go via WBAC who have given a very reasonable offer.

As mentioned, it is still under the insured warranty scheme which I'd expect they would allow a new owner to take out their own policy as it has been covered since I bought it.

MOT valid until March 2021.

Offers in the region of £24K.

Here's a load of pictures, if anyone want more detail please let me know.

Cheers for the feedback Hashluck. I was conscious of not going to high, or too low. There seems to be quite a spread of values on these!

I'm sure I will get a bit of sellers remorse when it goes. I pined for a leaky, slow and mostly awful Discovery 1 when I sold it, even though I replaced it with a 3rd gen RR which was objectively better in every possible way.

However, it would be really nice if it went to someone who'll get as much enjoyment from it as I have.

Quick follow-up as I didn't add any detail of the spec. The eagle eyed will have seen most in the pics, but here's a list:

19" Classics (245 front, 265 rear)
Black Dakota (I think) Leather with electric adjustment and driver memory
Front Heated Seats
Bluetooth phone and cradle (in arm rest box)
Pro NAV (HDD Version) w/Connected Drive
3.5mm AUX Port
Piano Black trim with gold Alpina inserts
Comfort Access

It has an open diff (i.e. no factory LSD) and doesn't have a USB / Bluetooth audio interface.

However, it can be loaded with MP3 via the USB port in the glovebox (which are stored on HDD) or can take the data off normal audio CDs. I use a very simple Bluetooth transceiver that plugs into the AUX port. This pairs with your phone and allows you to skip tracks using buttons on the device which is about 5cm x 5cm.

GLWTS very nice car and great advert. Hope it finds a good home. Have experienced an M (z4m coupe) car and driven e46 M3...my prediction is that you Will come back to an Alpina....but some itches need to be scratched!
