B5 Bi-Turbo Touring 015

Post by 190Colditz » Wed Sep 23, 2020 9:14 pm

Times up. 4 years and almost 6 months, 14,700 miles, £6,888.10 of servicing and £4,895 of V-Power.

Many of you will note this is LHD but UK registered (I imported it). In terms of spec and the like it has just over 74k miles (although all the service record is in kms) and in the time I've had it has wanted for nothing. New rear air shocks at 60k miles; new adaptive dampers about 18months ago; new moisture barriers to rear doors; one new comfort access handle; brakes have been done along the way and it has about 6mm on the Michelins that went on it last summer (2019). It also had some kind of recall done last year. Barry and co at BMR have been looking after it for a couple of years; prior to that is was Cooper Thames Ditton and Vines Guildford and from when it was in Germany there are lots of Kuntz stamps.

In terms of the spec the only things it hasn't got are DAB, TV, front fog lights and rear window pull-up blinds. It does have soft-close doors, air cooled seats, the option that is currently known as Tech Plus Pack, panoramic sunroof, and other stuff which I'm not certain was an option or standard on a B5 in 2011.

I'm selling it because it's a chunk of capital tied up (I bought it outright by bank transfer) and the forthcoming 530e Touring means I can lease one of those as a company car and pay an acceptable amount of personal tax.

Some pictures attached. It's not advertised anywhere else yet but will be on Facebook Owners page soon. Then if there are no takers I'll look to sell elsewhere. In terms of price there's not an F11 of this age in Germany for sale under €35k but I'm aware what I paid over 4 years ago when the pound was far stronger so I'd expect to get less than that. PM me if interested or you know someone that is.

Great to see another one, but sad to see that you are selling. Good luck with the sale.

Lovely car. It’s nice to see one that’s so well spec’d.

Hadn't realised quite how comprehensive the spec list of this one is. Looks great in the images, GLWTS.

There’s nothing wrong with a bit of promo from Monkey.

Yes, happy. I set a reserve and then we removed it this afternoon but the final price was above it anyway.

It was the best family car I owned and if the current B5 had a hybrid option I’d be in one. As it is I have a G31 530e touring and am hoping the next B5 line up includes a B5e, with the straight six and a hybrid element. The next 5er should be developed around a battery back sandwich to allow full electric and hybrid and thus allow Buchloe to get the ride and handling mix they need.

I live on the edge of a city so want hybrid option but I have family in different European countries so want Autobahn capability as well.

That's good news - definitely had a good increase in the last few hours.

I can well believe it. That's exactly what mine is - an amazing every day family car. The only thing I could imagine replacing it with is a G31 B5.

I can definitely see the reasoning for you going hybrid though. Hope the 530e is a worthy replacement, it's a great looking car.

Completely agree re B5 hybrid. If there was a B5 touring hybrid that would be my ideal car. I’m not ready yet for full electric given the poor range but equally I’m not going to buy another pure ICE family car either given where city pollution regulations are going. I still want a six cylinder car and I’m somewhat puzzled why BMW only offers the 545e in sedan form.
