F31 D3BT

Post by Dans » Fri Oct 04, 2019 1:16 pm

Hi,

I've bought a B3 so my D3BT is going up for sale, probably by auction like the B5 did, but timing means I'm going to offer it here first in case there are any takers.

I bought #202 new in 2016 from Sytner Nottingham. It has been maintained properly all it's life, and has now done only 23k miles. As an LCI car it is ULEZ compliant. It also has a full and transferrable BMW warranty until July 2020. There are lots more photos coming shortly. (I'm not selling with the plate, so it will be on a 65-plate)

It has a pretty good spec from new including Head up display, premium nav, LSD, 20" wheels, heated memory seats, parking camera front & rear PDC, radar cruise control, harmon kardon, and the Mediterranean blue paint goes beautifully with the oyster leather, while Alcantara has been used on the steering wheel, interior door handles and the dash and console panels.

The car is in beautiful condition, it has just been extensively detailed by Topaz who have also sent 2 of the wheels off to Lepsons for a professional refurb. There are a few stone chips to the front, and a small scratch on one sill and a small scratch on the rear diffuser, Otherwise the car is perfect. Because it has had a level 2 detail the Deco-set has been removed. I have a new original set which can be applied if the new owner prefers decals. They'll be fitted by Topaz if required at my cost.

It's a pretty rare car, with very low miles, and it's like isn't going to be repeated, WLTP having forced Alpina into lower powered diesels, and 4 wheel drive. I'm open to offers around £40k, which is about what the auctioneers thought it would go for, and in line with what Alpina think it's worth.

That does look very nice Dan and the spec is excellent. But as hap said, really needs the Dekor refitting.

I'd guess you've gone for the Carbon Black B3 S (#208)

Nice dans, bit of theme developing with your cars! I'm sure that will be snapped up quickly.

Good to know that both your Alp Tourings have made way for another Alpina 8)

Look forward to hearing more.

Hi

I agree about the stripes, but not everyone does so I figured giving the new owner the choice was best.

As for the new car, the last one to be imported into the uk by Sytner turned into a cancelled order, so I jumped on it. It’s in Alpina Green II with decals and forged wheels and a massive spec. So I got the last F31 B3S. Pics when she arrives.

Cheers
Dan

That will be the B3S i put a deposit on and was set to buy until i was misinformed about it so pulled out of the sale.

I did wonder when it would finally pop up. Glad its gone to someone on here.

Absolutely nothing to be worried about and apologies if it came across that way!

I enquired with Gary Lott earlier this year about ordering a new F31 B3S to be told that no more orders could be taken as production was about to end but there was a canceled order yet to be built and it would categorically be the last RHD UK to be built.

I was told the spec and colour combo which was close to my ideal but i wanted it Alpina blue with brown leather plus door blinds and heated rear seats which this car didnt have. This was at the beginning of April and i was told the car was to be built in June.

With this information i knew that an order could be changed at that stage in the process so i paid a deposit to secure it then tried firstly through Sytner, then through Alpina to change it with no joy and no explanation as to why.

I then took a contact of mine who works for Rolls Royce to speak to his opposite in Munich to find out in actual fact the car, along with another RHD F31 B3S had been built in March!

So after this misleading information and deciding that if i was going to spend the best part of £85k on a car i didnt want it to be a compromise as this was going to be the only brand new car i would have ever bought.

I bet you have got a better deal that i was offered now its gone in to stock at Sytner.

I've been waiting with anticipation as to what the G21 B3 would be like and after the press release i'm relieved it looks fantastic. Hope its goes as good as it looks!

aah, ok, that's a relief. Although interesting it's been sitting around that long. The spec has shifted a little from the original one, but not by much. the main thing is the lack of a vent gauge as the company making them went bust. It's going to be good, and the new one looks great, but I decided I'd not realistically be able to get one before mid-late 2021 given production won't start until the beginning of 2021 and they've taken a few orders, so I decided to go for this and enjoy it for a few years before deciding.

cheers
Dan

Thats a shame regarding the vent gauge but not surprising.

I tried to order a gauge for my E92 direct from Awron (as they have more features than the Awron one made for Alpina) and paid via paypal. Ended up having to open a case with PP as didn't receive anything after several weeks, not even an email! I ended up buying the Alpina one which may well be from the last few remaining.

Shame really as its a great bit of kit.
