Grand touring: 1000 miles across Europe in the new Alpina B3

Post by Jonnywishbone » Sun Oct 25, 2020 9:06 am

Another Autocar feature on the B3 via #007, following on from their first drive. They’re really going to town on this car as a full road test is still to come.
Autocar wrote: it’s already clear this car is better than the one it replaces in almost every measurable way, which is saying something...For a certain sort of owner, it probably isn’t too generous to describe it as the most complete car in the world.

What a glowing review - great story too, collecting the car from the factory. As someone said in a recent thread, it’s a shame journalists can do this but it’s no longer offered for paying customers.

Either way, Alpina seem to be getting some great (and well deserved) press of late.

Lost elegance and simplicity ????
Who makes the exhaust now? That seems quite a short lived partnership with akro

Thanks for the heads up I’ve been logging onto the site every day since the first drive review for the full road test.

Possible stupid question but would the actual magazine (paper/digital version) offer more detail than what’s published on the website?

Lots more - all the facts and figures. Here's a copy of this weeks road test (new "Mercedes" SUV) so you can see the level of detail in the actual magazine.

For someone with a B3 Touring inbound, well worth the £3.80. And though national lockdown is forecast for next week, I would still justify a trip to the newsagents to pick up a copy as essential travel!

Nice one churchie I will definitely be grabbing a copy along with a pallet of bog-roll and jumbo pack of pasta.
