BMW Alpina 2002ti in Classic Cars - October 2019

Post by Toasey » Sat Aug 24, 2019 11:59 am

Very interesting article about the life of a 1969 2002ti bought as standard and then fitted with a five-speed and limited-slip diff by the BMW dealer at the customer's request, who then sent it to Buchloe for an Alpina engine (a 165bhp A3, the best Alpina made for the 2002 at the time) and Scheel racing seats, Alpina steering wheel and rack and adjustable anti-roll bars front and rear plus seven-inch-wide, 13 inch Ronals. Alpina's widest wheels were six inch at the time and the owner wanted to race the car at weekends. The opposition in Capris and Kadetts were already on eight or nine inchers.
