It's been spotted before by at least Charles and myself and was subject to some controversy as we couldn't agree if it was LHD or RHD - in the end it is RHD..

B10 FWD spotted this morning in the dismal traffic on the M40 southbound between J5 and J4. I was 'parked' in front of the car for a while so the owner should have seen the car sticker....

So would that be a Sytner built car or factory special order ? Either way very rare in RHD 8)

Apologies for the thread revival, but found reference to this old Total BMW article which supports this as a Sytner built RHD B10 3.0 ALLRAD! And it's one of two they built.

Amazingly, it's actually Fjord Grey, I always assumed from Charles & Neil's sightings that it was shade of blue!

WOW - thanks for resurecting this thread. It was well worth the update more than 10 years after the thread was started.
That is an amazing car with massive history. Originally a 525ix (so 4x4) and a diplomatic car.

I wonder if the owner knows of the cars pedigree? Often the driveshafts to the front wheels are removed - we used to do this with Pug 405 GTI and Fiat Croma's.

Really nice update - I would love to chat to the owner.

From what I’ve read, the current owner is the same owner as when it was featured in Total BMW, so presumably he knows the back story. It’s in the process of getting a restoration having been off the road for a good many years

Yes, the current owner is still the same as the one in that old magazine article. He's on forum.bmw5.co.uk, I gave him a link to here so maybe he will introduce himself

Hi guys, i know its a few years late, i also have a 1994 e34 525ix 3.0 ALPINA in rhd format,

I was wondering if this could potentially be the 2nd car produced by Sytner Nottingham, i've attached a copy of the original sales/build sheet,

looking forward to your replies,

kindest regards in advance

Always interesting to get more info about these cars, especially one that’s slipped under the radar for so long. Based on your paperwork (which is unusual to have these days) it looks very likely it’s genuine.

Does your car have a build plaque on the dashboard?
Would be great to add your car to the ALPINA Archive, if you want to provide a bit more info/images I can help.

the invoice is great reading, so in 1994, this car was in excess of £50k, our first house only 4 years earlier was £70k... and we sold that in 97 for £92k.
