ALPINA Hoard

Post by Bob » Thu Oct 14, 2021 5:08 pm

This was shared on FB, quite a collection in an undisclosed location.

E36 B8 4.6 COUPE #043
E34 B10 BiTurbo #491
E39 B10 V8 #374
E28 B10 3.5 ???

I have in my head that the E28 B10 3.5 was based on the 535i rather than 528i (which this reg tracks back to) but I'm not so sure now and especially knowing Sytner it could've been converted later rather than from new.

The B8 is not on the archive either. What FB group was this posted on Bob?

PS I really don't like it when the badges are mounted in the wrong place :no

It was on Old Skool Zimmers. The B8 had never been spotted before, hence not on the Archive, agreed about the badges ... it's usually the E28's that are like that (but because Sytner did it wrong from the start that's ok? :hand  )

Sytners wouldn’t have done the b8 badges as that would be alpina built
The bi turbo is familiar either magazine featured or mcp had it years ago

The BT and the B8 are both very special cars. Interesting that the BT's outnumbered the B8's by over 2:1

I've seen the white e28 somewhere before, cream of the crop for me that one.
The B10's were indeed based on the 535i of that period.

In that case, may need a bit of Due Diligence, as the reg comes back as a 528i :?

its also on a B reg which is unusual, the B10 was normally seen on later cars (C plate plus) but it does seem that some of the earlier B10's were based on the 528i so an early B10 if thats the case.
