Powder coating

Post by Aggie » Sun Nov 15, 2020 6:45 pm

Hi all.

I've been doing a little bit of cleaning in the engine bay. It's looking OK with the exception of the inlet manifold. I believe it needs sand blasting and recoating. With the exception of a few rust nuts and bolts which I can replace easily, it really is letting the engine bay down. Has anyone had this done and able to recommend a company to do the work? I'll get Lee Shannon to remove and refit. Many thanks.

Hi Barry

I see you are just around the water from me. I think the last time I was on Hayling island was to visit the donkey sanctuary. :D :D :D

You've seen the best of Hayling already then...I think Gosport's claim to fame is appearing on the Repair shop :)

I just scrubbed it off and repainted with high temp paint from a rattle can. Is holding up nicely. As always, when you do it yourself: it's all in the prep work.

When you have it sandblasted I would thoroughly have it cleaned before putting back onto the engine. You don't want blasting grit sucked into the engine..

Cheers,
