A quick ask...
My recently acquired B10 had a pretty ignored exhaust.
I tried some wheel cleaner on it (Bilberry) and that did a reasonable job. I then resorted to the joy of my youth, some Autosol polish cream, and a microfibre cloth.
It's still got some deposits, especially on the lower half.
I think (mine is an early V8 - 1997) this is a mild steel tip, rather than polished chrome. Maybe I just try some wire wool and the autosol?
Thought I would check if anyone has any tips before i go native!

Re: E39 B10 V8 Exhaust clean up
Autosol and 0000 wire wool is what I use together with the britmax twins one polishes and the other is a sealant
Also tar removal will sort the bonded bits

Re: E39 B10 V8 Exhaust clean up
.havent done the B3S but will resort to a drill with a light sanding attachment....as autosol and steel wool didnt work for me this time around. My previous car had shiney tips after some light sanding...
