Given that you can't have BMW or Alpina logos etc. on your number plates anymore in the UK, are UK Alpina drivers still mad about fitting Sytner plates? I was thinking of fitting some gel plates with no border to my B10 V8 but wonder if any other owners shun such things are too bling bling.

The regulations only apply to newly issued plates, so I think if you have the old plates from before the legislation was introduced, including logos, then it's perfectly legal. It's just if you need to get another set of plates made up, then you will have to make do with Sytner, post code and BS number on the bottom with no logos.PhillV8S wrote:I have the Alpina logo on the side of my plates. MOT’er at Sytners didn’t take issue with it.

Oh the bottom border? I guess that is equivalent to having standard size plates and simply drawing a BMW or Alpina logo on yr body immediately below the 'plate' in legal terms.hap wrote:Sytners will do the logo plates but only on the plate with the extended bit at the bottom on the rear
