Rimwax advice
Rimwax advice
Morning folks - just bought some rimwax as the wife's had some new alloys on her beetle - just wondered if anyone here's uses it / rates it and how often it has to be re applied ?
Cheers

Poor boys wheels sealant, 2 coats first time round and then top up as brake dust doesn't come off the rims. Really good and lasts ages.

I've always used Poorboys but, after I get my wheels refurb'd this winter, I think I'm going to jump ship and try GTechniq C5 Wheel Armourshaziman wrote:Poor boys wheels sealant, 2 coats first time round and then top up as brake dust doesn't come off the rims. Really good and lasts ages.

I've heard lots of very good things about the performance and longevity of C5 and think it's worth a try

I use the GTechniq stuff and it is superb. The 15ml bottle doesnt seem like much but i only used a third of the bottle on my classics. So i have enough to reapply in a couple of months time.

Nice to hear and reinforces other opinions but, if the longevity's as good as reported, you may find you don't need to apply again for quite a whileswannie wrote:I use the GTechniq stuff and it is superb. I agree but want to give it the wheels a top up so to speak in a couple of months.PerryGunn wrote:Nice to hear and reinforces other opinions but, if the longevity's as good as reported, you may find you don't need to apply again for quite a whileswannie wrote:I use the GTechniq stuff and it is superb. The B3BT will be getting a full pampering next Friday from some experts which I'm really looking forward to. As part of that, the wheels are coming off for a full application of GTechniq C5 Wheel Armour. Think I'll get them to do the winter set too!

F&R Mobile Valeting. They come recommended. Kintore isn't handy for me plus I believe they have a pretty lengthy waiting list.jamesa wrote:PB in Kintore ?from some experts

Re: Rimwax advice
I use it and find it works pretty well (smells nice too!) but it's hard work applying and buffing off. I usually put a coat of AG SRP on first then a couple of coats of Rim Wax. Seems to last the 6 months wheels are on with a weekly/fortnightly wash.Nattyboy wrote:Morning folks - just bought some rimwax as the wife's had some new alloys on her beetle - just wondered if anyone here's uses it / rates it and how often it has to be re applied ?

Don't think I'd get it again though. Probably try one of the others are raving about above
