As a newbie to snow foam, I looked at various vids on YouTube - half of which said spray SF onto dry car, half said pressure wash car first What is the accepted “ normal routine “ for Alpina owners. Thanks

I suppose one answer might be that it depends on the product. All of my detailing potions have instructions on how to apply, dilution ratios etc.

On the other hand - and I’m not a pro by any means - in my view you are trying to get as much dirt as humanly possible off the car before rocking out the two buckets and before laying so much as a single mitt on the paint. So to me it makes sense to pressure wash the car before doing anything else to get rid of as much “macro dirt” as possible before moving on to a pre-wash.

That being said, and circling back to my first paragraph, certain products will work best with a certain dilution which itself can be affected by whether or not the panels are wet. Although that’s probably getting a bit too far down an anally retentive rabbit hole.

As per JWB above, I jetwash first to get any easy to remove dirt off.

Then snowfoam the whole car and leave to soak while I clean the wheels individually with wheel cleaner and brushes then shampoo.

Then I jetwash rinse off.

Then I lightly snowfoam again and go around the car with a small soft brush around door handles, lights, body creases, badges etc.

Then jetwash rinse off

Only then do I use a wash mitt and 2 bucket method and touch wash followed by a final jetwash rinse and them a drying towel.

Takes ages, looks good though!

I use Bilt Hamber auto foam. I spray it on a dry car and let it sit, then jet wash it off. Mu logic being that applying it to a wet car will dilute the detergent action and prevent it having the best effect for loosening dirt and road grime,

Also comes down to conditions on the day, if its a little warm or a bright day I'd just wash the car first to keep the car wet while the Snow Foam works Generally though I would clean the wheels first before touching the car, that way when I start to clean the paint that's my focus and I don't risk letting anything dry and cause streaks.
I use Sam's Detailing Snow Foam which you can get a 10% discount if you use the code ALPINA10 when ordering.
