New 5 series

Post by Geoff » Wed Nov 25, 2009 2:55 am

Just seen the pictures of next years 5 Series on Autotrader.
Looks good, a cross between a 3 and a 7 which I suppose it should
The shape looks more cohesive than the E60 which never looked quite right side on IMHO.

As soon as I arrived home on Monday I went straight onto PistonHeads website. As this was the only website that I was aware of which had F10 photos.

The E60 shape has grown on me recently for some reason.

The new F10 is saloon shape, I was never quite sure about the E60. IMO I can see various 5 series models in the F10 design which I think is rather cool, I therefore like it a lot :D

Here is a cool promotional video of the F10

Sorry but I hate it :(

It's actually a handsome car, if very conservative, until you get to the front and that huge gopping great maw they've stuck on the front of it.

I'm really not liking BMW's design direction at the moment, the current 3 is one of the dullest looking cars on the road (unless dressed up in M-Sport or (preferably :) )Alpina bodywork), the 7 looks like Kenneth Williams flaring his nostrils, and the 5 now sits between the two. The least said about the 5 GT, the better, talk about a niche too far.

The E60 has matured into a bit of a classic in my eyes, especially with the M bodywork and wheels it looks "right".

Of course, a nice E39 is hard to beat, and I'm not biased in any way
