I've registered for the news letter and looks like Saturday there will also be track sessions available, parade laps, maybes are skid pan access and hot laps.

So looks like more moving action on the Saturday and then Sunday is all about static.

I'd like to attend but I've recently cancelled my BMWCCGB membership. Shame as Thruxton is a only a quick blast up the A34/A303.

Do you have to be a member of the BMW Car Club to attend (I'm not) or can we go as Alpina forum members?

Its an event organized by the BMWCC so I would think, yes, you need to be a BMWCC member. I can certainly mail the BMWCC office and ask them.

I booked my ticket using the BMWCCGB members club web page. There is a 5 pounds discount using the members discount code which can be accessed when you login. The ticket is reduced from 25 pounds to 20 pounds however as previously mention there is a charge of 2 pounds something even if you elect to print off the ticket yourself. The entrance ticket covers both days.

Then on the eventbrite booking page

When selecting who you wish to display with you need to select "series" as opposed to club or any other alternative, there was not a separate option for thealpinaregister. However, do not worry if you are not a bmwccgb member all ALPINA will display together so just choose that as an option.

If you are travelling any distance I would encourage you, unless you are camping to find accommodation sooner as opposed to later as Thruxton is just off the A303 which is a well known route for the West Country and Devon & Cornwall. This makes it popular with holiday makers breaking their journey and is also fairly close to the Stonehenge attraction. There is a Holiday Inn at Solstice Park SP4 7SQ, I have used it a number of times no had any parking issues, but it is an open car park. I have also used the Norton Park Hotel at Sutton Scotney which is fine but both hotel prices reflect demand in mid summer.

Here is some more information provided by the Club 26.1.24. There is camping and its free. Currently, there are toilets and wash basins but no showers, however according the the lady at the Club they are looking for a resolution to that issue. From memory it is possible to park you car next to your tent and camper vans are welcome.

Overnight parking - in the interior of the circuit. The security gates close at 2030 and open early the next morning. However, there is some kind of dinner arranged and that will finish after 2030 so arrangements to let people out are being made. It appears those wishing to leave their vehicle overnight will be asked to leave it at their chosen display area.

Ticket sales - according the the Club ticket sales have exceeded expectations and that the costs incurred by the club are virtually covered already. There even may be a situation whereby they sell out. Therefore, perhaps get your ticket sooner as opposed to later.

I have had confirmation from the BMW Car Club Gb there is no restriction on the number of ALPINA cars that can display. Again you do NOT need to be a member to attend.
