7th August 21 Stokesley Classic show

Post by Norrie » Wed Apr 14, 2021 8:28 pm

I have been approached by ALPINA owner Adam Severs to see if anyone is interested in displaying their ALPINA at the Classic Show at Stokesley, North Yorkshire. This is on Saturday 7th August 21. Entry is free for exhibitors.

Simply I have told Adam that I would attend and my friend Kelly Dub in his red D3. However, our decision will be based on the fact that if we cant attract any other owners we do not want to go just to look at our own ALPINA cars.

Anyone who is interested please post up hereon this forum.

Marc 76 is doing Time Attack and Anglesey is on the 8th, so we would normally getting there the day before to get the car prepped. BUT I don’t think he is doing this date as it clashes with his holiday.

If we are not going to Anglesey then I’m in. I can bring alpina or the E36 and should be able muster another team member with my old E30 touring.

Looking forward to doing a few Ford and BMW shows after a couple of years of drought.

Had a look at the booking form and vehicles must be 25 years old. I am sure if approached they will accept a display of alpinas

The chap Adam Severs said he has attended last 20 years and is confident of an ALPINA acceptance, I cant say about M power cars or other BMW and in the context of this event my sole reason for posting was to suggest the event to ALPINA owners. I someone wants to attend from here and want to give their details I would be happy to coordinate that with Adam who is in touch with the organisers. I get the impression from him that he knows the set up very well.

OK, you can count me in and thanks for coordinating. Let me know what you need and I will PM.

I will get some non Alpinas interested, but get them to book as individual entries.

Ok, by definition my interest in getting ALPINA owners together at this event. We have space for 10. However, to be transparent I also understand the BMW Car Club has applied (yet to be accepted) for this event. There seem to be very few ALPINA owners north of Nottingham (abuse to contradict approved), but is anyone wanting to come?

Its a lovely part of the World and makes an excellent weekend? However, sadly if insufficient interest we shall have to decline.

I am happy to attend, but having a modern edition I will remain on the standby list and will step in if you can’t get a firm 10 classic models.
Cheers

Any ALPINA qualifies as far as I am concerned, there is no pecking order. If you picked it up new the day before or it was one for the first ever produced, my contact tells me they will be accept as a "special interest" vehicle.

Much by chance was catching up on some 2019 car programmes and the one called "Bangers & Cash". Series 2 episode 1 . The Stokesley show was featured and it was estimated it had approx 4.7 million value on cars on display. There were certainly some "newish" BMW very much under 25 years.

I will be honest the problem with all these events is that they are subject to cancellation and confirmation at very short notice. I would need a update from Adam Severs who is the organiser.

I will give up an example, not ALPINA specific. I applied to attend an event which is taking place at Bicester today 26th June 21. I only received confirmation email last night at 1900 hrs that I had been accepted to attend. These kind of short notice notifications make it very difficult especially if accommodation is required.

If I find out anything significant I will post it.

Hi All Adam Severs B5, contacted me and said this event is 100% and space has been allocated for ALPINA.

Now the question is does anyone want to attend?

I will be 100% transparent I have to look at this in conjunction with some others. I am at Silverstone for 4 days the weekend before and it is a fair distance for me to travel. I will give it some serious thought when I have spoken with colleagues.
