Classics @Glemham 6th Sept 20

Post by Norrie » Sat Jun 27, 2020 9:16 pm

This is a rearranged event in which the organisers have planned for social distancing inconjunction with displaying a car. It is only 5 pounds to display and a number of ALPINA owners have bought tickets. I know anything can happen but as the fiver is for a charity its worth my gamble.

I booked & paid via their website as a display vehicle/alpina club entry, but looking at it now it only gives you the option to "Join waiting list for display vehicles" with your email address, so it seems it is heavily subscribed, and I note that general public admission tickets are are almost sold out with only 209 adult/49 child tickets left.
As I understand it, they are only doing pre-booked online tickets, so I suspect that unless you have an email ticket with the QR-code, you won't get in on the day.

QR-code is a kind of two-dimensional rectangular barcode, so is a machine-readable code consisting of an array of black and white squares, typically used for reading by a scanner or a smartphone camera.

Tony S. Your ticket is valid and you can display just show your pass on the gate. I have had this confirmed for you personally by the organiser.

The format will be there is a separate area for all ALPINA cars for display, there are 10 in total booked. This will be next to the BMW Car Club GB display so make sure you are directed to the ALPINA area and not in with their display. I shall have an ALPINA flag to help indicate where we are, however David Adams in the man on site should you have any difficulties.

To explain why now some people are being told they will need to wait for a space ( not you Tony S as you are fine). Some car clubs like Porsche block booked a fixed number of spaces. There will be a cut off date and if they have not paid or confirmed then those spaces will be free for others.

1000 vehicles are booked, there is also live music and various trade stalls I am told. The risk assessment has been approved by those who need to give authority for it to proceed.

Hope that helps?

Hello, I am not sure if you mean you are going but not displaying your ALPINA? If that is due to the fact it currently say's no availability, please let me know your details by private message if you wish to attend with your car (ALPINA) and I will see what I can do for you.

I will be attending but not in the Alpinas as they wanted me to bring the Lambo and Maserati. I am hoping to come and see the cars on the Alpina stand.
