Post by Norrie » Sun May 19, 2019 10:28 am

This annual event includes a display for the SE region of the BMW Car Club GB, an invitation is extended to those members of this forum who may wish to attend.

The organiser (not the car club) has the following criteria to park with a club:-

A. vehicle should be registered 2004 or before.
B. If not as per item A and is newer, vehicle should be rare, of special interest, high performance or discussed with organiser for its merits.
please not it may be essential to contact the organisers if when you try to book it will not accept you vehicle call 07375 554420

Location is Norman Park
Hayes Lane Bromley Kent BR2 9EF
www.bromleypageant@kelsey.co.uk
email Bromleypageant@kelsey.co.uk

If you have a BMW or ALPINA that meets the criteria and wish to attend it would be good to see you there. Full details are on their web site I think it was 7 pounds to display and 2 pound booking fee.

If you are wondering how I managed to get my B7 into the show, I sent some pictures and spoke to a Lady called Pippa who was most helpful, it was not a problem.

Looks like I am the only ALPINA at the show! Yikes along with 13 other cars which are over 20 years old from the BMW Car Club. I have the ALPINA Club flag so will fly that.

Apathy rules, I went to BimmerFest a couple of weeks ago, the first 25 Alpina owners to sign up were offered free entrance.

Even with this incentive there were only 4 Alpinas on the stand, I was the only one from the UK.

There were a few more scattered around with various clubs/groups and Phil had is B6S inside, but still a very poor showing :wall2

Despite any positive take up to this event here, it is now full. Therefore unless you have an entry ticket and display pass you will be in the public car park if you wish to attend.

By all means promote and advertise whatever meetings you like but don't start slating forum members or Alpina owners for not dropping everything to keep you company as there are a world of other things to do in their lives.
Wow, you got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning
For your information I was not slating other forum members, I was just stating a fact about attendance , nor do I expect anyone to drop everything to go to a car meet.

Surprised you mention going to geeky car meets, perhaps you have forgotten all the ones that you have attended.

Also do not tell me what I can and can not write, as far as I know we still have free speech in this Country.

Gents, the purpose of the posts is to inform people about events. They do not have to justify themselves to anyone as to why they can or cannot attend. There is no apathy as far as I am concerned from anyone.

Let's put this into perspective, Charles organised a meet and a number of people were able to come, I organised one at Milton Keynes likewise some people came.

There are many many meets and many reasons why we as individuals can or cannot, do or do not wish to attend.

Please let us all bring ourselves back to the reason we come to this forum, it is because we enjoy ALPINA and we need to respect that takes many forms.

I attended the show, the BMW car club had 14 vehicles, mine was the only ALPINA, no problem. However, despite the show organisers insisting vehicles were at least 15 years old there were many, many that were not and some were of no interested to anyone except the owner. 57 plate Corsa, 59 plate Ford Ka and something with lime green wheels.

Very disappointing and no one I would ever attend again in a hurry.
